Combine Soldiers without masks

So, I have found a few of them and didn't see anyone mentioning them.

Am I the only one that wanted to know since 13 years how they look (obviously the non human ones)? Or is it well known how they look and nobody told me?

You.. never noticed the stripped Combine soldier model that's been in Half-Life 2 since launch?

That's what I meant, that is clearly a human with "enhancements". The ones in Alyx look different ( I don't want spoil it too much since I don't know if it comes up at the end of the game).

They have no skull, no eyes and no mouth. They are basically just a lump of brain.

I saw one of those but i think i saw others that were like normal human looking underneath the masks as well.

I think it's canon that there are human and non human soldiers.
I can't remember human combine soldiers, only the ones in hazard suits (not saying there are no human soldiers in the game, just can't remember them). But that shows that getting headcrabbed doesn't remove the skull. That's why I think those are not human.
