Toggle barnacle lift?

What does this do? I hear it prevents barnacles from lifting you but how does that work? Do you still take damage? Do you instantly teleport to the ceiling or do you just stay still on the ground while passively taking damage slowly? What exactly does this setting do?

if it's disabled they choke you to death, if it's enabled, they still choke you to death, but they slowly pull you up at the same time.

So basically they just leave you stuck in place until they are killed? What does the barnacle animation look like while they are doing this? The mental image of this is a bit goofy to be honest.

The tonge wraps around your neck and chokes you. Kind of like a smoker in Left 4 Dead.

yeah, you just stand there with your vision slowly going red and blurry and you have so many seconds to kill the barnacle before you are dead, if lift is enabled, it does all that but lift you.
