Can You Catch Headcrabs?

If one of those loud beans jumps at your face, can you snatch him out of the air like a baseball?

nope.
The closest you can do is use a chair, bucket or etc to hit it out of the way. There is no hand to NPC interaction

correction:
You can barely catch regular headcrabs before they bug out.
You can reliably catch armored headcrabs. As thats what your supposed to do with em.
Still no hand to npc interaction though.

Haven' tried, would like to know in order to get that one achievement. I did try to take a swipe at one midair, but not sure if I failed or it just didn't work since he still got me.

That's wrong. You can definitely slap Combine soldiers both alive and dead, there's special sound for that...

I don't think you can grabbity them with the gloves, but I know you can pick up live ones and I believe I've caught a few that jumped at me while I was out of ammo. Pretty scary to stare into the jaws of one thrashing around in your hand. I tried slamming one into the wall repeatedly, but it didn't seem to do any harm.

Absolutely - more through luck than judgement, I ended up holding a headcrab that was jumping at my head. Critter squirmed like a jack rabbit - until I stuck the shotgun into its gnashing teeth and blew it to pieces.

you CAN catch them, but you have to let go within 2 seconds or it damages you. with the armored ones you have just enough time to catch and shoot em in the shiney part.

this aint no boneworks though. thank god the game looks this good and the story is awesome, because from a purely vr gameplay mechanics angle, this game is at least 2 years behind everything else.

its like a very very good version of arizona sunshine with SLIGHTLY better locomotion.

dude I caught one and was holding onto his back while his little legs were kicking lol I threw him real far and he actually broke a leg and was limping around. that totally blew my mind.

You sure? just tried it on the first combine soldier you meet in chapter 3.
He just melees you.
You can slap em around and ♥♥♥♥, like the dead bodies, but nothing will damage them.
Rift S, maybe the Index can do it, but that hardly matters.

I don't think you can just pick up headcrabs right away. There's a small amount of time upon landing where they ragdoll, but that's like one second of downtime.
