No I turned everything else off.
Yes maybe but it's hard to tell if the whole computer crashes :(
I really doubt that's the problem. I played just fine on high settings with a Ryzen 7 1700x, gtx 1070, and 16gb of ram.
Try running HWmonitor in the background on a second monitor, if you have one, and just keep an eye on your CPU and GPU temps as you play, checking every few minutes. Hopefully you can see if anything is overheating before the crash.
That wont fix your problem unfortunately.
This game will hit your PSU and especially RAM far harder than maybe anything else you play.
My money is on a RAM issue from your description though.
I would remove two of your sticks (I assume you have 4), and ensure that they are in the correct slots for your motherboard for dual channel. Load the XMP profile and try playing. If you still have crashing, switch both of those sticks out and test again. This will help you isolate which stick is damaged (if any). It will also help your memory controller catch a breath, and put some space between those sticks to help prevent them from overheating.
Chances are that it's an unstable RAM overclock that is only showing in this game, though. Seriously the amount of bandwidth Alex pushes through your RAM is very high and sustained, it will bring out hiding stability and temperature issues that other games just wont.
I'm using 2x32 GB
Should I try putting them both in the other two slots?
I think the problem is me trying to be a smartass and buying a 2x32 gb kit on a ASUS PRIME X370-PRO just so I could still use them on my future PC. This motherboard is 64gb max but I think 2x32gb is not compatible with my PSU in combination with this motherboard. I probably need to get 4x16gb instead.
