How do I use the healing injections?

All of the controls have felt very fluid except for this one. I can't figure out how to use it!

You have to click a button to get the needle to come out, then just inject

Yep button press then jam it into your crotch or whatever.

The first one you encounter should spawn the tutorial overlay which shows which button to press (B on Index controllers I think). Once the needle is out stab yourself somewhere. Works best in the hand but you can go for the head or body too.

Glowing injection points in the glove? I just stabbed my gut, leg, arm, face, crotch, chest, under my left middle toe, whatever was handy.

Blue to the sky. Orange to the thigh.

I went full EpiPen, idk why but in the leg seemed like the right call when I did it. Also you can still shoot easily then.

If you hold a syringe with the tip out and look at the back of your empty hand there's a glowing injection point that spins that you're supposed to stab it into. If you look at gameplay footage of any of the valve playthroughs that's where they injected it. Was honestly surprised by the number of placed the game lets you inject it.

Pretty sure you can inject it literally anywhere. Quite weird of a thing to have if you have an actual part where you are supposed to inject it, with no difference of stabbing your pinkie toe and the actual glowing injection point.
