How do i reload a shotgun?

I can pull ther chamber open but it closes if i let go so i cant put a shell inside, what am i doing wrong?

you can open it with a button (same that drops mag out of pistol) it auto-closes when you move it up, just try a bunch more times with this info? :P

aint working i press tyhe button that i would press to release clip from pistol and nothing happens , i can open the chamber but it closes if i let go.
I propbably have about 25 shells cause ive been playing for about 10 hours using a pistol

Aim down push the button the chamber should remain open if you're aiming down.
Maybe it closes because your aiming up which means you're done loading ammo and it should close

The only thing I can say that the other poster didn't say (what he said about the same button that drops the pistol clip is correct), is that it's dependent on gravity also. If you're holding the shotgun upside down or sideways, the chamber will close itself.

Also, since a "flick of the wrist" is supposed to close your shotgun chamber after reloading it, maybe try roloading it once while not in battle and being very, VERY careful to hold your right hand *completely still* (so you don't accidentally trigger the "flick of the wrist" animation). Maybe your tracking is super sensitive and thinks you're flicking your wrist to close the chamber?

Two other possible solutions--

If you buy the "auto-reloader" upgrade for the shotgun, I believe you no longer have to open the chamber to reload it (I haven't bought it, but from the videos I've seen, you just stick shells into a rack on the side of the shotgun and it auto-loads them).

Lastly, check your Steam VR control bindings and make sure there's a button bound for "open chamber" or "eject mag".

Oh, one more thing. Your weapons have collision physics, so you should be able to physically stop the chamber from closing by holding it against a wall, door, shelf, etc. This isn't a real gameplay solution, but it might help you diagnose the problem.

I'm a little late but I had this same issue using the HTC Vive. Turns out, for some reason, instead of it being bound to grip like it is for dropping pistol mags, it's actually bound to the right menu button. (the one above the touchpad on your right hand)

Took me around half an hour of flailing the shotgun around to figure this out, hope it helps!
