Sprint button? Jump? Experienced VR user controls?
Can't really find any of these, instead I just push on the stick and it quickly throws you up, any time you need to climb through something it just does it for you if you walk into it enough. Is there something I missed to turn off all of these safety features for the people who get sick?

To be clear im fine with safety features, but it kills the smoothness of the gameplay when I cant quickly get away to cover unless I use the intended teleport button. Dont get me wrong the game *looks* nice, but I hope later on it feels nice too :/

That's how it is supposed to work.. sadly
For people new to VR this may feel okay but I am disappointed just compare it to Boneworks and it feels like it is a couple of years behind

+1 for wanting dedicated sprint and jump buttons. It would be wonderful if they could do the following for Index users:

• Left thumbstick click = sprint
• Right thumbstick click = crouch
• Right thumbstick hold = low crouch
• Down on right stick = jump, pulling lower = higher jump

That would be great without making too many changes. It just feels too glued to the floor like a walking simulator when you can't manually jump and gain air on command.

im ok with not having a jump button, but they really need a sprint, having to resort to the teleport when i want to back track or go faster is lame.

Yeah sprint would be nice,

Jumping is complete BS anyway, Boneworks handles it the rough way, but seriously? It´s not immersive at all, and no I´m not getting motion sickness from it. Trying to Jump and climb something in Boneworks is a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and I very much doubt you would get anywhere faster with that.

For example playing a shooter in flat like COD where you can vault stuff very smoothly in a split second.
In Boneworks, you need to press jump botton, retract your VRlegs so they dont hit anything and then grab downwards in a weird motion, since you are just standing still in reallife, this whole precedure feels completely stupid.

Jumping in Boneworks may not feel realistic but in my opinion it's 100 times better than just teleport like in Half Life Alyx. It just makes the game feel old and outdated to me

+1 here I’d. Dry much like these features. It’s basically all that is missing.

I got really dissapointed to not find any oprions or mechanics for experienced users as well. After 5-6 hours it started to just get plain boring, because of the super slow walking and imersion breaking teleport mechanics. Boneworks is janky as hell but I still enjoied that way more. And if this game would have had the same functions as Boneworks (Climbing, mele and all that) but with the same smooth fell as the game has now. It would have probably been a 10/10. The gun mechanics also felt so much morre satesfying in Boneworks

sprint please, and for the love of god

Smooth turning please, no smooth turn actually makes me hate the movement system, feels like a 5 year old game because of it

Valve has always been great about mods and stuff like that, is stuff like that accessible yet? Smooth turning would be trivial to add and sprint probably wouldn't be hard either, I'm a UE4 dev and I might be able to do it myself but I don't know if stuff like that is exposed or if you can even do mods yet.

only maps i hear, its almost a deal breaker foe me to carry on playing, i can live with no sprint, since you can still blink travel, but no smooth turn i cant.

I hear you. It'd be so trivial to add, literally 2 minutes of programming, maybe 5 minutes to add a slider to the menu. So hopefully they can do it quickly.

It´s not about hard or not, it´s a design choice. The game design was made 4 years ago.
Furthermore Smooth turning seems t be a bug. So we can expect a fast fix for it.

Press the button above your touchpad when holding it in your hand. Then stick it in you arm, leg or head.
