WMR Can't put ammo in backpack?

I'm stuck at the part where Russel gives you ammo for your gun, how can I put it in my backpack? It says to release it over your shoulder but this does nothing.

Same here with Oculus Rift. Don't know if I'm too stupid, but the clip just falls down.

I have a lenovo explorer and I dont have that problem. I grab the ammo and bring the controller to my shoulder and just let go.

Ok, i was trying to use backpack on courtyard but it did not work. I destroyed the lock on gate, got to ammo in a box and then it started working...

Backpack is either not working until you get out of there or that was empty mag that was showing "put me in a backpack" :D

Go through the gate. You cannot put it in the backpack until you go through the gate.

I'm happy I'm not the only one! I can't put the ammo away, the clip just keeps falling down. Maybe we're all missing something?

Only full clips; you're not meant to be putting ammo in the backpack until out of the gate either

Wait, I did only try it in the courtyard. You're telling me if you go out it starts working? That's confusing, especially since the dude keeps throwing ammo at you and the game prompts you to put it in your backpack - which is weird because then it doesn't work yet.
