I think you might just make the minimum. Unless you have the 2019 model, in which case you should be good.
There are plenty of ways you can find your PC's specs without even needing to download additional software. If you can't figure out how to google them, no one can help you. How are we supposed to know whether you have a model with a GTX 1050 or 1660Ti?

(But seriously, just use the device manager)
you can easily check it using computer cleaner (CCleaner)

There's more than one 2019 model, so just look up your specs already. A GTX 1650 and 1660Ti are both 2019 GPUs and from what I could find on Acer's website models with both exist. That doesn't mean they'll both run the game equally well.
If you play modern VR games on it already, then you should be good. Specially if you have already played boneworks.
I looked on the Acer website and I think my model can run HL:A. On to the issue of a headset that DOESN'T cost $1,000
1] Open start menu
2] Type this: dxdiag
3] Press return or click the dxdiag icon
4] Wait a few seconds, there you go, it tells you cpu ram etc, gpu in the display tabs.
How will the website tell you what model you have? I literally told you in my first post, open up device manager and you can see your specs right there.

I never even thought about getting VR on my laptop until Alyx got anounced and now I'm really sad I didn't
Yeah so I have AMD Ryzen 5 2500U and Vega 8 graphics chipset. Is that the kind of info I'm looking for?
Mostly, yes. If you used DX Diag, I'm not entirely sure what that would look like if you have multiple GPUs, since what you listed is the integrated graphics of the Ryzen 5 2500U.

It's possible you have an additional dedicated graphics card that is more powerful than the Vega 8, however either way I'm pretty sure that that CPU falls bellow the minimum requirements. Though I can't be sure with the information you have provided, I doubt the rest of your laptop would mee the minimum requirements either, given the CPU that its pared with (which is rather on the low-end side).

Aw crap. That really sucks. I guess I'll just buy the modifications I need first
