Typing on the Steam Frame means pointing a laser at a floating keyboard, one letter at a time. A single sentence takes about half a minute. Gripspeak replaces that with your voice.

Hold both grips, say it, let go. Whatever text box you're in, Steam chat, the store search, the browser, a terminal, a desktop app, the words land there about a second later.

It runs on the headset. Speech recognition happens on the Frame itself. Your voice isn't sent anywhere, and dictation works with no internet connection.

Made for the controllers. Double-tap both grips for hands-free and put the controllers down. Double-tap the left grip to copy and the right to paste. Flick the right stick to send. Put Ctrl+Z, F11 or a phrase you type often on a gesture.

It learns your words. Fix a misheard name once and it sticks. Add friends' names, game titles and jargon to your dictionary.

A short guided tour teaches every gesture on your own controllers the first time you start it.

Gripspeak comes out on Monday, November 16. Wishlist it to get a note when it's out (and when the launch discount starts).
