Milkmaid of the Milky Way is a fun and short point n click adventure, giving you exactly what it promises.

You play as Ruth, a milkmaid whose cows gets abducted by aliens. Determined to save your cows, you end up on an alien spacecraft. As you continue to explore, the story unfolds. It's well-written and keeps you interested in wanting to see the conclusion. The gameplay is simple point n click, you pick up items and you interact with the environment. But more isn't needed for this game, it does perfectly what it's supposed to. It's a good modern title in the genre, not being too edgy or too illogical with its puzzles.

I recommend this game for both hardcore fans and newcomers to the point n click genre. I'm also definitely interested in trying other the developer's latest title.

Really fun little classic point'n'click adventure. I live for adorable little indie games like this, it's so charming. Lovely artwork and music, fun characters. A great bit of nostalgia with no nonsensical puzzles. Definitely worth the few hours of your time it will take to complete.

GOOD

"Milkmaid of the Milky Way" is a point and click adventure about a girl, Ruth that lives a peaceful, yet lonely life somewhere at Norway's countryside until a peculiar event takes place. The game has cute visuals with vivid colors, poetic dialogues, great music, adorable characters and strong eerie atmosphere. Yet, the puzzles could be more imaginative and challenging, while the story feels a little bit simplistic. Nevertheless It's an interesting, small surreal journey.

The good
- Cute minimalistic visuals with nice colors.
- It has a dreamy, surreal world that peculiarly combines calm countryside sceneries with sci-fi elements.
- Creative dialogues with cool sense of humor and rhymes like a poet.
- Great calm music that enhances the atmosphere.
- Interesting characters and an adorable protagonist. Ruth has no voice acting or facial expressions but you'll love her.
- Simple yet nice animations that fit the minimalistic visuals.
- Good controls. Everything feels responsive and the protagonist walks and acts pretty fast. It's not like many slow burn point and clicks.
- Distinct objects and available actions per screen avoid annoying pixel hunting.

The bad
- Puzzles are pretty easy. Limited interactions and only few collectable objects make them pretty straight forward. There are no combinations inside the inventory too. It needed something more imaginative and challenging.
- Somewhat simplistic story that is interesting and mysterious initially, but leads to a cliché battle between good and evil. Abrupt ending too.
- Too empty sound design with only few environmental sounds and music that plays all the time at the background.

Truly a game about the importance of dairy products.

Pour one out for Lykke.

A short, but sweet point and click adventure that absolutely does not break new ground, but achieves its story-telling goals competently and uses puzzles that (for the vast majority of the time) do NOT require bat-crap insane, galaxy-brain solutions. And it is done in a gameplay/storytelling manner that gets you over the finish line in a little less than two hours, rather than dragging on and on and on.
