well what the heck, no game for me, too bad about the money
1. Fighting cylons is a waste of time that costs resources.
2. Sitting on colonized worlds with an officers gains resources.
3. If you have at least one combat capable fleet blockading each starlane in and out of Alpha, the Cylons will never escape Alpha, letting you fortify Gamma-Beta-Delta with a single officer+manticore per colony.
(4. The strength of Cylon fleets is partially based on campaign progress. If you rush the Artemis Battlestar then ignore the campaign objectives for awhile, you'll be able to build multiple end-game fleets with impunity.)
The only way to actually "lose" the game is to get daedelos blown up.
