Manticore not firing
Restarted and i am either doing something really daft or its bugged. One of my Manticores, with no damage, not hacked, in range of forward guns and focus fire tagged onto the target yet its not firing? The other ship is in the similar condition and hacked yet fires?

Is the target significantly above said manticore? If so, the manticore's forward gun does not have a firing angle on it.

Screenshots or video would be helpful, it's very difficult to make a judgement on what is happening with firing arcs without seeing it.

Also, in case you haven't found this already, you can press \ (that is, backslash) to show firing arcs on your selected ship/squadron.

The UI does a miserable job of showing vertical firing arcs. Zoom in on a model for a look. Mantis want to be above the target but, if too high, has a poor angle.

It's funny to me that they simulate the arcs of the guns and no angle, no shoot, but munitions can fire in a true 360, carom 360. Makes sense for the missiles since they fire out from the launchers on the side and then arc over to home in on targets but torps are dumbfire so you would think that the tubes would have to be brought to bear on the targets.

Thanks, been a while so forgot the forward turret is UNDER the bow. Had used the firing arc overlay but that's pretty damn useless as it fails to show any vertical deflection.
Yes it is sometimes necessary to zoom in and examine the weapons physical location and hull shape to be sure what vertical fire arch they have. Luckily someone wrote a guide with all the details for you:
