The president and his ships will be coming in from the left. Pre -position two Janus cruisers (loaded with 3 nukes each ) either high above the presidents ships or far below as the remainder of your ships engage the six initial targets.
You want the Janus' directly far above or far below so the nukes can avoid the Heracles' flak. GET YOUR JANUS' INTO POSITION AND WAIT FOR THE ORDER TO ATTACK, then immediately hit each Minotaur with one nuke and each Heracles with two nukes. You will probably lose those Janus, but they will do most of the job if not all of it. (Remember, they must be positioned above or below or the Heracles' flak shield will block the nukes.)
The Minotaurs will not be completely destroyed by the nukes, so you need to have your Janus turrets "focus firing" (which means that the best position is from above, not below) on the Minotaurs or hit them with missiles from another ship as quickly as possible.
From there, let your Battlestars kill them after they finish engaging the initial targets.
Of course, if you want a better fight, arm the two Janus with guided missiles, but to be effective you still have to have them pre-positioned directly above or below the Heracles. I have beaten that mission four times on Admiral with and without nukes, but if you can't do it with guided missiles use nukes. At least you will be able to move on and not be stuck. They are just Cylon robots or Colonial traitors anyway...NUKE EM' if you have too. The only rule in war is to win.
Also, if you have them, you can board the Heracles with raptors to slow them down a bit, but that may give them too much time to destroy the president's ship.
No, but I did make those ships crash into each other after I reloaded the save. They BARELY give you enough turns to do it, but it is possible to get them to collide and do incredible damage to themselves... Glorious.
