Why do you require a Manual ? to learn to play do the tutorial.

Some folks like to read a manual before purchasing a game, to get a feel for how it plays. I guess there are or will be Let's Plays soon, though.

There has been plenty of media and most games these days when purchased digitally do not give a manual and manuals hardly let someone know how things play.

Here is gameplay footage from the developers.

Ummmmm...
Maybe because he's LITERATE and prefers written instruction over the hand holding visual instruction used most commonly on young children that the current generation of gamers seem to prefer.

Manuals are infinitely better than in-game tutorials, sadly millennials don't understand this and never will.

The manual is available on the game startup screen, jusp above the Patch Notes button. :-)

Bump! for the manual. It's gotten to the point if a game does not have a manual, theres no need to buy it. Look at the questions posted in the forums on games with no manual. The questions are the very ones that would be covered in a well written manual every time.

We produce manuals for all our games. Many are full colour physical printed manuals. Some are even hard backed books where the book is also the box and the CD is in the front cover. We take manuals very seriously!

If you took manuals seriously they would include a complete set of keyboard commands. Is there a pdf of that somewhere I can download?

Ok, before anymore hostility gets thrown around: Manuals typically (not always) are used to extra instructions or detail into the game that may or may not be covered by tutorials. Problem is they used to be more common in paperback instead of being digital. For many modern games there just isn't a reason to make a manual. I mean, making a manual for any given Call of Duty game would be kind of pointless considering how simple the gameplay is.

Though I can kind of see the logic behind there being one for this game. Granted, its not nearly as complex or user unfriendly as a Homeworld game.

I still am not sure at what the color codes on the firing arcs mean.

Green = long range (low accuracy), red = close range (good accuracy obv.).

So then when I have ships with orange and red on the flanks and green yellow and red on the fore and aft, that means my best guns are the broadsides. Got it.
