Previous sationeers
I am intentionally using the previous version of stationers and do not want any updates. I set the Previous prephase chance in the properties myself. Why am I being forced to upgrade today?

Just noticed this updating too, what exactly has changed? (viewing the patch notes file is last dated 29/10/2024 and mentions about battery submersion which is part of the current game, ie, for something to be submerged, would imply liquids, ie, phase changing, which isn't part of the [previous] pre-phase change version).

Have kept the [previous] version intentionally, as my base which I've spent hundreds of happy hours building and automating was all built before phase change became a thing. Has there been some stuff-up causing the wrong version to be patched in?

Is this a question on the subject of a subj, or is it a question to the developers about the latest patch?

Intended as a question to the devs (or the wider community if someone is more informed on the situation) about the recent patch to the former [previous] (ie, non phase change build).

Steam changes a lot of their systems, so the best way to guarantee you have the version you want (and for steam to not try update it) is to make a copy of the game. We ship the game with zero copy protection or DRM, so you can copy the game anywhere on your computer and it will never update.

We have reached out to steam previously regarding download issues and other issues such as corruption with steam cloud. However we have not had a response. As such, we recommend copying the game somewhere.

Thanks for the response Dean. While yes, is great that the game is "unhooked" from requiring the Steam client (a decision to be applauded), unfortunately Steam has already updated the locally installed version (as least for me, presumably the OP too).

Luckily I do have a Steam "backup" of the game, so with a little bit of monkeying around hopefully should be able to get back to a local version of the pre-phase change code, and this time will place it outside the Steam's clutches. Valve certainly could make this a heck of a lot easier if they provided a client-side rollback feature (though expect they'd resist that big-time).
