As previously replied, a Combuster "CONVERTS" two specific gasses into water.
A Furnace "Melts" any number of items.
Yes, both get warm but are designed to do very different things. Just because you can put oxygen and volatiles into the furnace does not mean it also has the necessary routing, condensing, and gas flow limiters required to make water.
So in other words, having H2 Combustor, which would automatically cool down vapor into water vs furnace that needs to be cooled down does not invalidate each other. Rather compliment?
