Plants now need a change from light and darkness , pressures and temperatures. Always keeping the row lights on will stress them until they die - similar to overpressure oder wrong temperatures
Plants get stress from both light and darkness until it reaches 255%.
The Farming Update Part II: Balancing & Bugs
Some of the require a temp from example 18-30 and some require a special gas mixture
They require water above x temperature ( tip the ice rusher do make water but it might first become a liqued in the pies after some time when they heat up )
So it could be the temp of the water is to low and that kill your plants.
( there is a heat exchanger you can put on the pipes and heat the water or just wait 10 minutes or so )
Also then there is the thing about the need for sunlight or light all the time.
I did not play the latest farming update but i never had issues with my light being on 100% of the time though what mostly effect my plants was water and atmosphere and temp
( its a very good idea to use the hydroponic system that have artificial light and 4 slots on some planets ) also now the plant growth have been slowed down and once the plants get larget you can harvest some plants a few time i think such as tormatos but not 100% sure
Also you should take the fridge/refrigiator very serious if you dont your eggs and other plants will be wortless after some time, so many just consider to keep your seed outside in the crate on the lander on cold planets they they might survive a very long time
Same goes with harvested items and manufactured food it require cooling.
Night, turned off grow light in greenhouse:
Temperature 29 c
Oxygen 70%
CO2 6%
N2 24%
Water in hydroponics tray 273mol 29c
Tomatoes is dying and this is my last seeds.
Whats wrong? Whats other they need?
Save my tomatoes pls.
The pressure is 99 kPa.
There have been, as explained above, several changes with agriculture and although the changes might not have been fully explained (due to length) in patch notes the encyclopedia seems to have been updated to reflect the new parameters.
So there is nothing to really fix unless you can identify a bug (again meaning you have provided your plant type will all the things and within the parameters listed in the encyclopedia entry).
However, if you do think you have encountered a bug then by all means submit it.
I found a way to solve the problem with dying plants. Perhaps it will be useful to someone. When I planted the seeds I had, they always died. So I bought new ones from a merchant. Plants from these seeds grow without problems and do not die without a reason.
you can also look up stationpedia (F1) on particular plant requirement before you build greenhouse, condition it and start growing. Type i.e. "tomato" or "potato" and it will tell you everything about what a standard tomato and a standard potato needs.
Over time they will mutate of course, and their requirements might change a little. But these changes are minimal for each grow cycle so you can keep standard conditions for a dozen of generations.
I had good experience with pure CO2 atmosphere in the greenhouse at 75 kPA Pressure and 25 °C temperature and 10/10 minutes light/darkness cycle. With these conditions my tomatoes were always thriving. I have automated air cleaning and conditioning so that the conditions always remained stable.
It starts being interesting after a dozen of generations. At certain point you need to start targeted selection of seeds. Because some of them will mutate in one direction and others in the other direction and you can barely make them all happy if you just replant all seeds.
By any chance did the old seeds pre-exist from a time before the plants patches were released?
