Any reason the updates stopped coming?
Updates were monthly, sometimes twice a month for a while but haven't seen an update or notice since last year so was curious if the game came across issues or if its still full steam ahead?

I was curious if there's also any timeline or planned release yet for the full version. I've spent almost 1000 hours in the game at this point but I've shelved it until it's feature complete.

I think it is time you lay off and move on.
Nobody in this forum want to hear about your rant.

I'm fine with people standing up for themselves. That said, it would be nice if people who complain after the fact followed their own advice.

I apologize if I came across as impatient - I love the game it was more out of worry than anything else since I really want to see the game do amazingly well. There's been a recent trend of games being abandoned after being in development cycles for long periods of time.

And I'm American myself - I get the holidays but January most teams are back at it, with some taking late vacations sure. Holidays are over after the 1st. Regardless, everyone needs breaks.

I could be more active on the discord but I'm not a big fan of Discord and tend to stay away from it. I'm glad to hear things are going well and progress continues! I do hope they sort out the whole traveling between planets deal which would be amazing. Or just sorting out the landscape and physics so rovers can be a thing again. Or flying aircraft, both of which were in the game at one point but were removed for ... well good reasons I suppose.
I was wondering the same thing. This is such a great game.
I know what you mean about discord. I used to be much more active in voluntary software/game testing but now much less because so much requires discord these days. I really do not like discord.
Oh well.

Nice :) ty.

For those who are not on the Discord I had a quick look at the dev build channel there and to give you a bit more context I count 13 builds in the last 7 days (37, plus 7 failed builds since the start of Feb). So very much in daily active development.

Current focus based on the change logs is terrain rework, which they've always said would be a large and time consuming piece of work. From reading the updates my sense is that they have a new system working and now they're working out bugs and performance optimising it. It looks like there are a number of other small pieces being fitted in as well, and possibly some work on ambient lighting.

Hopefully that's helpful/interesting to know
Murk's comment prompted me to just try spitting the recent change log into an AI (Google Gemini). Here's a short summary of almost 1 month up to today:
"
Recent Stationeers beta updates primarily focus on major improvements to the new terrain system, emphasizing performance and visual enhancements. Significant work was also done on optimizing the audio system, particularly for large bases, and addressing localization issues. Further updates include expanded trading system automation, new achievements, and modding system improvements, alongside general bug fixes and performance optimizations across the game.

The new terrain system received substantial attention, focusing on Level of Detail (LOD) optimizations for performance, including improved generation, pooling, and culling of LOD meshes. Mining integration with the new terrain was a key priority, ensuring gameplay functionality. Visual quality was enhanced through smooth normals, "spherising" shaders, and techniques to reduce visual seams between LOD levels. Underlying code architecture was optimized for performance with refactoring of chunk objects and improvements to octree management and voxel rendering. Numerous bug fixes targeted visual artifacts, spawning issues, and core terrain functionality.

You know they have more than two guys, right? Rocket just recently replied in another post how they have multiple teams on multiple projects. No need to keep shouting "wolf", we know better.

True that. Loved every update expect phase change.
Yes, i know how to use it, but it just makes lot of stuff very unpredictable and tedious.

My main problem with that is that they nerfed every other way of doing "stuff" so we are basically forced to use phase change, otherwise we get like 1/10th of effectivity by doing "stuff" any other way.

And since i like all other stuff that came after phase change, i cant really revert to old version either :/
There are several updates every week if you play on the experimental version of the game.
So no the game is not dead.

its just they update the experimental bc they want to test the updates before they release

But I am also looking forward for a new update...I am patient - but also courious...

7 Minuten zum trinken oder zum brauen ? Also brauen wäre schon sehr schnell und trinken hmm wäre schon sehr langsam . Den Spruch hab ich jedenfalls noch nie gehört.
Here we go! A new update!

Summary (via Google Gemini, incl. Steam formatting):

Big Changes Coming: Terrain Preview, Melting Ice, Modding, & Localization

Summary: This Stationeers update focuses on enhanced trader automation, localization and multiplayer fixes, significant modding improvements, the new ability to melt ice with welding tools, and various bug fixes. While not included in this update, a major overhaul of the terrain system is coming soon to the beta branch, promising more interesting and better-looking environments. The update also introduces new achievements, expands the logic system for traders, improves localization (especially for Chinese), fixes a multiplayer connection issue, and offers greater flexibility for modders (though this will break existing mods).

Key Updates:

  • Terrain System Preview: A complete rewrite of the terrain system is in development, aiming for more interesting play areas, better visuals, and smoother terrain. It will be available on the beta branch shortly after this update. Test maps are 4km x 4km, with final versions being 8km x 8km.

  • Melt Ice with Welding Tools: Players can now instantly melt ice stacks using the welding torch or arc welder, simplifying early-game resource management.

  • Enhanced Trader Automation: The logic system is expanded, particularly around traders. The Medium Satellite Dish now has an internal stack for circuit integration, providing detailed trader information. The Hash Display Circuitboard has a new mode for easy switching between Prefab and Gas/Liquid data.

  • New Achievements: Several new achievements have been added, including:
    • The Spice Must Flow
    • And Yet It Moves
    • Some Assembly Required
    • Stack Overflow
    • Soot Happens
    • Why Is It Still Mark Watney?
    • Syolnet Green is... Plants!
    • Khajiit has wares if you have coin
There are also hidden achievements to discover!

  • Localization Improvements & Multiplayer Fix: Significant improvements have been made to localization, especially for Simplified and Traditional Chinese. A multiplayer connection issue affecting players with extended or special characters in hostnames has been resolved. The community has already translated ~99% of the XML data for Simplified Chinese.

  • Expanded Modding Flexibility: The modding framework has been enhanced to allow mods to easily overwrite existing worlds, difficulty settings, and start conditions without conflicts. Modded content will now be clearly indicated in-game. Warning: This will break many existing mods.
