New and improved ways to accidentally kill yourself!
If you cant appreciate a game that continues to offer/add new and improved ways to kill yourself as a result of your poor in game choices then be off with you!

I for one welcome these 'feedback' improvements...

"Guess that huge explosion and all those burning space chickens means I might need to reconsider my venting plan."

Looking forward to more!

Breath volatiles, open your helmet in hot atmosphere, switch your filters off, use wrong filters, make vacuum, run out of propellant in mid air, run out of battery far away from your base, open a pressured room, got shot by the autolathe, got eaten by the alien bug.

@GrafSchokola You will have to explain the autolathe death in more detail. I have not succumbed to that one yet.

Having your helmet ripped off your face as a punishment for sneaking up on a sleeping gas tank and grabbing it by the handle. It is best to let it know you are approaching.

Seeing a fire in the furnace room and thinking it was a good idea to open the door. Kentucky fried Stationeer.

Try playing on Vulcan.

I've had that happen before... Well not the death, but I had the pipe bender toss out a very angry canister storage which tore my suit. Luckily I never leave home without duct tape.

I suspect he's referring to the auto ignition issue that someone reported in another thread. Printers are generating too much heat and igniting volatile atmosphere

My favorite was a game on Vulkan before the Mk2 tools. Coop partner and I were just merrily working along and in a flash we were both dead. Spawned back in, entire station was a literal crater.

Autosave had just occurred before the boom, so I reload the only save and 15 seconds later...boom again.

Took us hours to realize the fuel canisters in the torches were blowing, then took another hour of frantic reload game->find and dispose of live grenade->run in the 15 seconds we had before detonation. Eventually figured it out, fun times.

The autolathe or other crafting stations sometimes throw out their products so hard that you will die when close to it. it happened to me.

Beware the canister refill stations!

Have volatiles leak in base and turn on your welder to "fix" that hole.
Get stuck in elevator without your tools.
Open blastdoor to overcharged pressure room.
And my favorite: Use your fuel tank as propelant on hot planet.

Hardly's Lamentable Mistakes

Oldie but goodie, esp. for newbies.

Got a new one. Drill a nice big hole in the ground, then as you reach for a nugget. The wind ripps you into the air, the storm you didn't notice due to being underground grabs you and you have no idea where your base is. Done that twice now.. Got to remember to pick up my GPS before I go out.

If you dig a tunnel, can you hide in it during a storm? I've been lucky so far and haven't been caught out.

Also, can you use the terrain manipulation tool to close the tunnel entrance? Can you sort of "minecraft" yourself an underground shelter?

I found out long ago that caverns don't protect you from windstorms. Open items still take damage and get blown away (until it hits something solid anyway), but the visuals do die down underground a bit.

Never tried that. I always have high satelite tower with beacon lights, that turn on when my outside airlock doors are open (meaning i am outside). And when weather station detect incoming storm, the lights on beacon turn red so i know i should gtfo home.

Quite reliable

Always fun to watch (from safe distance) a crayon eater swap my shiny advanced cylinder with their crusty regular one, turn around and get launched into the opposite wall face first. Definitively worth all the airlock damage. :D
