Furnace question
So ive been trying for days, and I just dont get it at this point,

ive tried looking at youtube but nothing seems to be what im looking for, I dont want some big complicated set up with coding to do, Im a beginner nearly on the cusp of intermediate.
the basics of how to get this to work, will do just fine, heres the situation:

I have a furnace, the output is connected to a string of radiators, that run under an awning to avoid sunlight at all times on the moon outside the base, that pipe comes back inside the room a ways, and feeds into the input of my 6 filtration units, and the outputs into tanks, there is no unfiltered gas to be had, because there is no unfiltered.

so the question, HOW in the world, do I get this room to stay cool, even if the temperature spikes to like 200 C when the furnace runs, and let alone, cool the gases so they arent scorching hot in the pipes/tanks.

ive tried air conditioners, it doesnt seem to work well......

I get it, looking for a simple answer to a complex problem. I don't have all the answers here but I think I can help you along a bit.

There are two key elements from your statement that stand out to me that I'm sure will create problems for you, so I'll hit those.

When you release your gases from the furnace you'll have two issues to contend with immediately, Heat and Pressure.

You will want the heat handled BEFORE you send that gas to your filtration units. Usually after your filtration unit is your storage tanks, so if you surge hot gasses into your collected gas storage then there's usually an undesired home remodel shortly afterwards. You'll want a valve or some other type of control in place to keep your hot gasses from getting into your storage network before its cooled. Radiators take time to work, so you'll need time to process that hot gas.

Pressure is the next concern, I recommend a holding tank to store that hot gas and absorb the sudden surge of pressure, place this between your furnace and that valve to your filtration units. Load this pipe network up with your radiators and keep that gas in this section until it finally cools to a desired temperature and then open that valve, pump out that gas if necessary to collect all that gas.

I get lost now with the new states, so steam and condensation are new features you're likely going to have to contend with as these gasses are cooling. Others might have some suggestions on how/if to handle these issues that could come up.

@jeanDeaux thank you, that was the exact straight forward answer I was looking for! you have no idea how hard it is to find guides with straight answers, thank you!

The problem with guides and this game is that the guide only works if you built it exactly the same way as the guide shows. There are so many different ways to things in this game that it's hard to find the right guide for how you want to do things.

Some might use radiators to cool, others might combine melting ice while at the same time cooling hot gasses and do two jobs at the same time using heat exchangers. As you advance, you'll come to different planets that are hot and cooling becomes a completely new challenge.

Everybody is at a different skill level, understanding of game mechanics, as well as having that slight real world experience that is attempted to be produced in this game. This game is demanding of all your creativity and patience.

I have a total of 823.5 Hours in this game, The phase change update threw me off a little bit but however, I have found somethings that have worked for me to cool gases from steam. I know you have a total of 1,755 hours in the game.

After doing many tests and trials I have yes also blown pipes and tanks etc. like one would say if you have not blown your base up you have not done science,

With that said for cooling gas I will do a short list below.

step 1: Layout your pipeline and regulators or other taps like (Expansion Valve | Condensation Valve, Make sure they not spaghetti type piping or it will be confusing really quick.

step 2: Minimum of 1 Heat Exchange / liquid + Gas \ / Liquid (This very with different players setups)\ / Gas (This Vary with different Player setups),

Step 3: Minimum 1 Tank Insulated or Non-Insulated (Nitrogen) Stored in that tank.

This is my setup sort but sweet.
I have the following setup
----
1 Insulated Tank will stored Nitrogen to its max of 50000L.

1 Insulated Tank with Water but wit steam stored also in the same tank.

1 Liquid + Gas Heat Exchanger to cool steam below Boiling temp 373K (100C) at 100kPa

Liquid pipe coming from the Heat Exchanger to a water bottle refill station, and leading into the Hydroponics Devices.
---
It may seem a lot but when its all set and ready to go you have no worries. about Heat and pressure build up.

P.S If your on a planet that has no Nitrogen you can use a jet-pack or edit the Worldsettings.xml file with either Notepad or (Notepad++ Recommended)

and add or remove gases from this line in the XML file
---
<AtmosphereComposition>
<SpawnGas>
<Type>Oxygen</Type>
<Quantity>300</Quantity>
</SpawnGas>
<SpawnGas>
<Type>CarbonDioxide</Type>
<Quantity>30</Quantity>
</SpawnGas>
</AtmosphereComposition>
---
The XML file can be located Here: C:\Users\User\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Stationeers\saves\LetsTry\WorldSetting.xml (Your location my be in a different to my location.

Plus not all guides are up to date and we're in the shadow of a fairly recent major atmospherics update, so there's that too.

I can only speak to the moon and a bit of a noob but here is what I am doing.
1. I smelt outside and I do not have a radiator system for the input into the system.
2. I do however have one spot on each post filtered pipes (before it gets to my portable tanks) which I can put a radiator on as needed. That is not a long term solution, I just needed to get many gasses (o2, fuel, N) sooner rather than later.

I only use insulated pipes between the filteration and the portable tanks and yes, on the moon the temps will continue to fall because the rules of 'will fall until world temp is matched) means forever because vac does not have a temp.
This however also means I often have to ensure the non-insulated pipes are clean when not in use. I plan to automate that later.

I also left a space so that I can carry those gases from the portable tanks to a larger proper tanks. My next project is to put a back pressure regulator and use the larger tanks for excess. this way my portable tanks will always remain full first so I can use them for newer projects if I need to.
