Travel to other planets
Is it possible to travel to other planets? I built a rocket just like it is described in the Stationpedia. I fueled it up. But, when I get in the command module I get an exception that the operation is not implemented. If it is actually not implemented it should be fully depreciated in the Stationpedia. Did I do something wrong or is it truly not implemented?

I saw a short yt video some time ago where the planet was changed.
However, there is no return, and the last memory was automatically overwritten when the new planet was reached.
So it's almost like a new beginning.

Yes you can travel to other planets, you have to use logic to do it, first of all which rocket did you build? there are 2 rockets as you may know, one is automated for collecting stuff, the other is for travel. Assuming you built the one for travel then what you have to do is use a Logic Writer and a memory chip, this is old school but this is what I use, some people use IC chips, anyways.... Install a logic writer I/O chip and one memory chip and connect the chips to the line that goes to the launch pad, both power and data. It is a good idea to name the logic writer chip and the memory chip, now for the input on the logic writer set it to read the memory chip (left nob), and the output of the logic writer set it to launch pad(right nob). now when in game press F1 for the help menu and in the search type "travel" in there you will see "travel to other planets" click on that, now you will see numbers for different planets you want to visit, example: moon= 1138682070 , use a "labeler" and go to the memory chip, point the labeler at the nob and enter the number 1138682070 and save. Now once you have the rocket properly fuelled with rocket fuel and oxygen you should be able to launch and the rocket will go to the moon, use different numbers to go to a different planets. NOTE: The rocket will NOT launch if you don't have the proper fuel mixture, 66 % Volatiles and 34 % Oxygen for the fuel tanks, no other contaminants. Pay attention to the rocket pipe connections, all fuel tanks inputs need fuel only piping, the very top pipe that is connected to the command capsule, this one ONLY is an oxygen piping, do not mix this with the fuel piping. personally i use red pipes for fuel and white for oxygen running up/down the rocket to my tanks located in my base.
Woo Hoo... I just passed 1100 hours of game play on this game, :)

Thank you for your reply. I should have added a little more detail to my original message. I did build a rocket to travel in. It is fully fueled and the fuel mix is shown as optimal. I do have a logic writer writing the hash code of my destination to the setting variable of the Modular Launch Pad. I did not add oxygen to the command module as the Stationpedia says it is not necessary as your suit is sufficient. The rocket consists of seven modules, as is the stated limit, engine, fuel tank, four cargo, and command. When I enter the command module I get the exception and get a strange disembodied view of the inside of the command module. I can view the command console inside. It says that all conditions are not met but gives no clue what may be missing. Any further ideas?

Also, maybe you can answer another question. If I manage to travel to another planet is my original base forever lost of can I eventually travel back to it?

Hi,

Same bug here.
All conditions checked but rocket refuses to take off.
When I enter the command module, the first person view changes and I can't even see the launch console.
I've tried to complete the tutorial "rocketry", and same results ... we have no lift off ...

When I have loaded my savegame again, the control panel shows 0% fuel whereas the tank is nearly full, mix fuel error appears as well ...

Concerning your last question, if you decide to travel to another planet, you cannot go back, except loading an old save file.

My understanding of this mechanic is that you CAN go back to a previous planet, but the planet is wiped clean and you start anew. So don't expect to see your old base waiting for you, its a fresh start.

Hello, Yes you can travel back to your planet, at least it works for me. My first base I built is on the Moon and eventually I built a rocket and I travelled to Mimus and I started a base there close to where the rocket capsule landed, I am not sure but if you always want your rocket to land close to where your base is the base should have been built close to that same landing spot, not sure what will happen if your base is far away from that landing spot. So basically what i'm saying is I believe the Devs wrote the code in such a way so that the rocket always lands in the same spot on a given planet, A long time ago I did run into the same problem that JeanDeaux explains above, I landed and everything was gone, I don't recommend others do this but what I did to fix the problem is I modified the game files and made some changes, saved and reloaded the game and it worked.

Disclaimer: like I said I don't recommend people mess with the game files unless you are familiar with programming and even then the game Developers also do not recommend people modify any game files, doing so may render the game non playable or even crash, do so at your own risk.

Thank you for your reply. I do not what my problem is then. I have now built two different rockets in two completely different starts and have the same problem in both. When I get into the capsule I get a not implemented exception and my player becomes disembodied. I can sort of pan around the capsule interior. It looks like I'm sitting in the pilots seat upside down. When I exit the capsule (Q), the view is still disembodied, basically looking through the inside of the space suit. I have to get in and out of a cryo chamber to restore proper view. It is very strange. I was hoping that maybe someone else has had a similar problem and knew how to fix it. You reach a point in the game when you are ready to move on. I had hoped to be able to get a restart with some of my own kit.

Well then what I suggest to you is to make a back-up copy of your "saved game folder" the default path in Windows 10 on C: drive is under "Documents/MyGames/Stationeers/, and temporarily past the copy on your desktop or elsewhere, once you have made a back-up copy of your saved game files then uninstall the game, when it has finished uninstalling reboot the PC and then re-install the game via Steam, once the install is complete take your copy of the saved game folder that you made and paste them back in the correct directory and restart the game and see if you encounter the same problem.
