Ice melt when i hold it

i'm on the moon and the temperature is nill but whenever i try to split a stack (to use it in a furnace) it ends up in my hands and melt super fast...
I feel like that's a bug since this didn't happen in the alloy tutorial.

Sublimation[en.wikipedia.org] will occur when ice is exposed directly to solar radiation, in addition to any thermodynamic induced melting.

Yeah, generally I do my Ice mixing and changing at night, when its both cold (on mars) and there is no sunlight.

Or you can do in the shade as well.

or you can simply setup a small freezer room in your furnace feeding area so that you can store your ice in lockers and freely feed it into the furnace through chutes without worry of it melting. Wall coolers take very little power.

Don't need any of that... All that is needed is an empty mining belt or mkii mining belt. Mining belts have a built in cooling function.

Nothing in the belt will ever melt on it's own.

yeah but when you hit "split" the result sgoes into your hands, unless there's another way to split directly inside inventories i'm not aware of?

I'm getting this now too in latest beta, sun is on the far side of the moon no solar radiation, temp nil but ice is melting in my hand

Details, please. So, it's in Beta. Deep night. Are you in a room? You said temperature "nil", so there seems to be no gas around at all, but isn't there really? Measurement instruments (e.g. tablet) do not display super thin trace gasses, and maybe those play a role here.

Could just be a bug, though. At least I don't think the idea is "Your hands are warm gloves or not."
