You should be getting prompts and quest style checklists for the ones that work though.
Being a long time player, I submit you may want to set this aside for a few months while they work out all the new bugs that are introduced with their new game engine re-write they just completed. The game has provided long hours of enjoyable sandbox play for myself and others and once they get the game stable again I think you'll find a fresh start a bit more rewarding than you'll find it just now.
I had issues with the tutorial as well.
I've only tried the first one multiple times.
After the initial greeting message, I've walked into the building and nothing happened.
Then I closed the game and uninstalled it through stream.
Library->Stationeers->Manage->Uninstall
Then I deleted the the game folders in:
Steam\steamapps\common\Stationeers
and
C:\Users\UserName\Documents\My Games\Stationeers
Then reinstalled the game.
Then I noticed it shows a red message on startup: "discord not open".
I closed the game and started discord, then restarted the game.
Then the tutorials were working and I was able to complete the first, second and third tutorial.
I haven't tried the rest yet.
Hope this helps someone.
In the airlock tutorial, I get a red error message after placing down the pipes (after the active and passive vent part).
The red error message is:
"[EXCEPTION] nullreferenceexception: object reference not set to an instance of an object".
I'm at the part where I need to get the "Kit (Consoles)" from the crate, then build it in the highlighted position.
It's working. I'm able to continue the tutorial.
you should be able to ignore that and continue on placing the console
Thanks. I was able to continue.
Now I'm at after the part where I had to turn on the Area Power Control and I got more red error messages:
"[EXCEPTION] argumentexception: enum underlying type and the object must be same type or object must be a string. type passing in was 'system.int32'; the enum underlying type was 'system.byte'.
Now I'm stuck at:
"As the room fills with atmosphere. your suit will register the external pressure and temperature change."
The console between the doors shows 101KPa.
I'm not sure how to continue now.
the devs on discord just announced they are fixing this tonight and will be patching soon. my advise is, if you get stuck, just move on to next tutorial for now. sorry you have to go through this.
Very nice of them and thank you for helping.
Thank you very much.
