Error loading save

My friend and I played a bit on the new patch and then as soon as we tried to save / load, we encountered the error "Parameter prefab is null". After restating the game, it went to "Object reference is not set to an instance of an object". This is reproducable each time we try to start up the game now.

Some things that we did since the previous save:
* Create one of the new drills
* Created a recycler connected to said drill
* Recycled some lying around reagent mixes
* Put a bunch of cladding on things

I can't remember which thing is was, but there were some null reference exceptions when I opened the output for one of the machines (the drill maybe?). I can provide the save if needed, or any stack traces if there is a good method to grab them.

Do you have Discord running in background? There is currently an issue some people are having with this. You can try close Discord or run it as administrator. It solves the issue.

I have not found a fix, but also have not gone XML diving yet.

I tried closing Discord, but same issue. To double check, I also loaded a separate save that has 10-15 hours (not just a new map) and that one loaded fine, leading my to think that something is invalid in the XML.

Is there anyway to enable debug logs or something? I assume that a node is missing a reference (orphaned resource item or something?), but just the exception makes it hard to track down.

For me it was Discord. If I have it running then I get errors. No Discord no errors, try it and might help

I don't run Discord, but I do see a red message when I boot the game up that says "Discord not open". I can't seem to open any of the recent saves for this particular base that I started yesterday. It's very frustrating because it's the best start I've had so far!

I have fixed this problem buy restarting PC and not booting Discord.. it is a discord problem.

Hi there, same problem here but i'm not running discord.... the error happened yesterday after i fixed my rocket BUT if i roll back a few saves (and 2 hours earlier sigh) it is solved.

The REAL PROBLEM is that after the last update my framerate dropped to 1 starting from the main screen and staying like that thru the whole game.,.... any ideas?

p.s. starting a new save does not solve it.

Check the patch notes. There is a new console command that may help you.

do You refer to the LEgacy CPU one? isn't it suppose to help with low end machines?

EDIT: tried both the no discord command and legacy command. nothing changed. still 1 FPS in main menu and in game.

This time they fckd up really bad xD

fixed the low fps mode with the oldest method. updated Vcard Drivers.
Still getting the object reference stuff. even on a new save
