Air Conditioner. Again. WTF.
I have 460°C and 1 kPa on the input (controlled by a pressure regulator), 130°C and 150 kPa on the waste line. The only reason it's that cool is because I used to have a working setup. Now, no matter what I set the AC target temperature to I get the *exact* same temperature on the output line. The AC simply acts like a volume pump.

The old AC was funky but it was atleast possible to get a setup to work. This? This makes absolutely zero point zero sense and I'm close to finally giving up and uninstalling. It is literally impossible to cool anything that isn't already cool-ish.

Pressure on the input line is far too low. Try pressurizing to 100kPa on the input line and it should be fine.

the ac works fine you have something hooked up wrong. hold your mouse over the pipe ports on the ac to verify things are still the way you think they are.

1kPa, 10kPa, 100kPa or 1MPa, it doesn't matter. I get the exact same temperature on the output as I put in.

It does sound like Nightwolf said then. You probably have something hooked up wrong.

I've got 3 A/C systems running. One keeping my base at 20c, and another 2 (in series) keeping a cold room at around -10c.

No problems with it all. I concur it is how it is set up. Input and output go out the ends. They call the side vent waste, but it really should be called coolant.

I can get these things to work fine on any planet but Venus and Vulcan, which kind of makes sense, but I can't figure out any other way to cool the base initially. Winterbloom is an option, but even that requires the room to be a specific temperature for them to grow.

The new air conditioner is one of the best patches so far before it was a complete non-sense

of cource now the old *magic* tricks do no work

for a simple setup i recommend to:

connect the gas you want to cool to the waste pipe (you could use the input output but this way it allows for better temperature range)

connect the coolant to input/ouput,

set temperature target to 999

-> run

*keep all the pressures at 1000kpa or more for best performance*

one unit should be enought to cool a small base in vulcan (if the coolant is around 150-200C that should be easy if use radiators at night), if you need more power, just add more air coditionerts in serial (i use 3 in serial for my vulcan base), around 3 of them should be enougth for venus,

keep in mind that even if you add 5 of those it doesnt use as mush power as the old glishy setup,

since you are not setting the real target temperature in the airconditioneer you can use this simple script to automate it, so it runs only when need to run and dont overcool things
