where do we get the mk2 upgrades?
I'm guessing the traders.

You build the autolathe mod from the mk 1 electronics printer. Then the electronics printer from the mk 2 autolathe. Then the others come from the mk 2 electronics printer (I think)

You can get them from traders but they are not common. You need to weld the mod onto the machine as well.

I just started a new game, and now cannot find the upgrade kit in the mk 1 electronics printer. Did something change? Does anyone know where to find the upgrade kits?

Yes, something did change. You now get the MKII mod inside Electronics Printer for the Electronics Printer, itself. Then all other Mod 2 will printing from the Electronics Printer mkII.
Inside the EP Search window, type: mod. http://prntscr.com/x5061t

But the Electronics Printer MKII mod is not available in the autolathe, so you cannot upgrade anything anymore

It's NOT in the Autolathe, the MOD for Electronics Printer is INSIDE The Electronics Printer.

Yes true, but the mods are only available in the Electronics Printer Mk II not in Mk I. So when you start a new game, you cannot upgrade as you need Electronics Printer Mk II to be able to upgrade the Electronics Printer Mk I...

Are you looking for the EP MK1? That has always been in the Autolathe.

No I am looking for the mod to upgrade the printers, but this is only available in EP MK2, but I cannot upgrade the EP to MK2 as the mods are not available in MK1

The only MOD on the EP MK1 is the MOD to upgrade the EP Mk1 to a EP Mk2.

In my save game, I can find the MOD to upgrade the EP MK1 to a EP Mk2 on both EP Mk2 and Autolathe Mk2; when I start a new game both the Autolathe Mk1 and EP Mk1 do not have this MOD. Should I look somewhere else?
