How do you pressurize a room?
I have a sealed room with an airlock. Ihave a furnace to melt ice, vented into the room. I melted some ice and now I have standing water in the room. How do I get the pressure up for growing?

thanks!

Dont melt water ice (the white one) cause it floods the room. Melt oxide ice (the blue one) which gives O2. Dont know the real world colors of the two ices but water blu, oxide white would be more obvious :steamhappy:
By the way plants need CO2 to grow in the air too and temperature of 15 to 30 degrees and sun light.

u can box in a arc furnace and have a active vent in the room with the furnace to collect gas. this will not heat up the gas as much making ingots. to add the gas to a room u will need a passive or active vent added to a pipe with the gass in it. or all the tank storage have valves on the top off them u can open or close. keep in mind the room temp will become what ever the temp the gas is your adding to a room. radiators on a pipe that is attached to a tank will make the temp of the gas in that tank whatever the air temp is around the radiator.more radiators will make the temp change faster. pipe pices like pumps valves and regulators willl stop the temp transfer. and keep in mind there is allways more then one way to make something work..

I would advise not to start on moon if you are new.

Mars is easy to start with since the atmosphere is mostly co2.

There are several ways you can pressurize the room but the main idea is to simply put air inside the room until it reach certain pressure. Naturally, larger the room, the more air it need.

I recommend you not to leave the water in the room but rather have the water stored inside a canister or tank and use pipe to connect the water to the tray.

If you start on moon, then you need to gather gas produced by the furnace or arc furnace and store them into containers. Usually we filter the gas and store them each on different tank because different gas has different use.

Build a 3x3x3 room with an airlock, release your waste tank inside the room, temp wil rise to just above 0, then drop some oxite, and use the portable heater to get to 15 degrees c what is enough to grow potatoes if they have acces to sunlight..

For this room you need with airlock, about 200 oxide to fill it up too 100Kpa what is default operating pressure for the airlock.

From here on, you can start building a real base, its even possible to get to this point without building solar tracking. If you are really saving power by turning devices off that your not using, and adjusting the panel manual 3 times a day, to keep the battery charged at much manually is possible and still get things done..

Oh man, how have I not thought about releasing my waste tank directly? This is brilliant! So many hours spent learning the game, only to learn I know nothing.
