Cooling for ABSOLUTE dummies....... Please help.
So I've got over 100 hrs in this game, I've read the blogs, the forums, the help stuff... I still for the love of god can NOT get this cooling deal down! I got pipes from the inside of my greenhouse going to the outside (mars -60) with radiators on the pipes outside. I thought the heat would exchange with the cold 'air' outside and cool my gasses in the pipes. They don't...

I have 18 radiators on a pipe going outside and back in and there is no cooling(checked with PAD). I also tried just making a cooling loop filled with X that would bring the heat outside.

Please, anyone, what am I missing. I feel like I should have grasped this by now.

Best luck I've had is charging the pipes with X then adding the wall mounted coolers to them. I've gone straight for 7500Kpa in the pipes, to make sure there's enough pressure to fill the lines. But you've got the right idea of sending the pipes outside and putting the rads on them. Maybe take another stab at it.
Have you tried the atmospheric kit to make the A/C units? I've had good luck with them too.
Can you put up some screenshots of your setup? It would help us diagnose any issues.

Also what is the pressure of the pollutants in your cooler? This will change how quickly it moves heat outside of your base.

This guide suggests to use pipe radiators on both the inside and the outside pipes. It does work for me, but the cooling effect is pretty slow and just a few wheat plants will overwhelm it. Then I turn on the wall cooler.

easy observeable solution. build a room 3x1 along your greenhouse! put an active vent to suck out the air from to greenhouse into this room and 2 passiv vents from the cool/heating room to the greenhouse. in the C/H Room u put the heaters and the coolers. connect the cooler to a array of pipes and radiators that are outside (-60) the messure the coolent temp use a pipeanalyser. at least fill the pipes with at least 100kpa X. at start make windows at the outside of the room tosee temp, cooler/heaters are running etc. if u know exactly how it works u close the room completly and finished. i can show u a video if u like.

Do you have the valve between the condensor and evaporator on all the time? If so, that's the issue. You have to let the pollutants in the condensor cool to below 0 before it'll be most effective.

So this shows my greenhouse from the top down. its on a draft(draught) mode currently. the air is leaving the greenhouse from the right side by the planters going outside to one radiator. it then enters a CO2 filter which recycles the CO2 back to the greenhouse and all other gasses go left through the big radiator pipe.

This is the ground view, there are 2 radiators on the CO2 return, all others go left to the main gas processing area.

this is the main radiator pipe. upstream of the radiators is the greenhouse and the furnace dump in. in the middle of the radiator pipe is the little furnace inlet for gasses mostly. then they continue to the left side for gas filtering/sorting.

I get that there isn't much cooling on my CO2 gas recycle. but the bigger issue is when I dump the furnace into the pipe, I get ZERO cooling from the radiators.

Also, I had a simple loop of X gas going from the green house with 5 radiators to the outside with 5 radiators and the valves were always just open. It dodn't work so I dissasebled it.

The pics loaded just fine. You're way short on radiators. Please see the guide that Faraday linked to. I've used up to 25 - 30 radiators just inside of the greenhouse for my cooling solution.

If you wanted to use something similar to what you're doing now you'll need to use around 30 radiators to get any appreciable cooling.

If you're trying to cool furnace gasses you'll need something like 40 radiators and about half an hour for them to reach 0 C.
Wow! Okay. So I'm good on design but need more radiators. Looks like it's time for a tower. Lol

I was in a situation that filled my base with hot gas from my furnace.. and it was taking some time to cool off.. so i built a box around my outdoor radiators and tossed in ice.

To my amazement the water stayed in the box and helped cool the indoors.

I suspect I'm short on radiators just like LordRed is. I'm still working on the 1x1x1 cube starter nursery, so I have only three inside and three outside radiators. I also do not yet have the outside radiators protected from the sun, and I suspect that is important.

If you're on Mars it's not necessary to shield your radiators from the sun. The cold atmosphere negates the sun's effects.

Radiators are also resource intensive, unfortunately. Which I'm sure is why you are short on them.

That's an interesting idea! I'm curious--did it continue to be effective over time (in-game days)?

You said it helped cool the indoors--what difference did you see? faster cooling,etc?
Are you getting the hot air from the furnace? If so, In the video I will link, you can build a small area to let the gas sit and cool before releasing into your main system. The video talks about ores, but shows the cooling area using simple radiators and valves.

...and you could scale up this idea to hold and cool much more gas too if you wanted.

Yes it still worked over time. Although after the base cooled i didnt really pay much attention.

I've since modified the design to be more efficient. 10 radiators inside, 30+ outside.
