Microwave - No idea what's happening
Pretty new to the game and doing my best, figuring out a lot of the complexities but I'm having a serious problem cooking food and it's setting me back big time.

So I insert a tomato into the microwave. A bowl magically appears inside. All seems to be well as seen here: https://i.vgy.me/PhecV8.jpg

Although I don't understand the message 'This is empty the device of all reagents.' Makes no sense to me.

Next, I close the lid, activate the table (powered), activate the microwave (powered), and it turns on. The bowl begins to spin as it cycles through the cooking process. But when I mouse over the oven it says 'Creating Unknown.' Yet, it seems to be working. And then ding! its done - but apparently not. The bowl just disappears! No bowl, no soup, no nothing. And I lose my precious tomato in the process. I'm left with an empty microwave, the button flashing orange, and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Any help much appreciated.

the microwave is retar compared to the furnace
if you atempt to take back what inside it clean reagent mean it destroy the content without leting reagent mix as in the furnace
at least it must let some burnable item but not it not actually developed
it act the same as furnace if you make thing inside it just show the content until you found the good proportion then it write in green the output
but with furnace you can test and later recycle the reagent not in microwave
the 10 tomatoe make soup with a steel empty can any other proportion waste the content
corn is 5 + can
pumkin 10 + can
you can reuse the empty can you eat previously

Okay that's different, game must've been updated since the various youtube videos and tutorials I've been watching were made (last year). I don't think the cans were originally part of the recipe. Many thanks for the info!

yes its new
and the pmkin receip is deceptive
its not 10pumpkin for a can but a single one
even the microwave give the wrong info
definitively the microwave is the most obsolete part of the game i played
duno for all logic and heavy equipements

You need to know the recipes for different things I find tomato soup is easy to produce as it only requires 1 food ingredient and it supplies you with a decent amount of food

I've heard milk is the best for lasting effect I've never tested but one video I heard 1% will fill your hunger completely

you meant crude tomatoes or what
i found no recipe for the rice
is someone know it?

i know this wiki and their still is missing data
need to know the pressure and wattage of each device
i need also to know the physical resistance of thing
as exemple i had a suit total failure during a quiet mining job at ground where i instant died for unknow reason
another time my suit was damaged at half and i used tape but still have the damage bar at half so i dont know why ince i often falled fron vey high without trouble on the moon gravity and never collided things at high speed jetpack
i found too than a portable canister was damaged not sure why
i supose when rebounded chaotically when atempting to handle it
often thing bounce at hundred meter away when i just handle them but never are damaged else in a single event less spectacular
how to know the rule of the game we playing
i canot make ll thing explod for test their pressure limit and canot plug a wattmeter on each item until the coil burn and less again throw anything for test resistance

You can press f1 in game and find all the recipes in the stationpedia or whatever it is built into the game.

Makes life easier. Because, like you said, the microwave is finnicky and is an easy way to waste a lot of resources on accident because you didn't put the recipe in exactly right.
