rovers?
Im just getting back into the game after a while of absence and I placed down a rover kit but I had been skimming the change logs and noticed that the complete rover looked nothing like the rover model I had seen on the logs. The rover Mk 1 kit creates/created a 4 wheeled rover but I have seen gameplay of a 6 wheeled rover as well as seen that same model in change logs. I found some gameplay again and it looks like the 6 wheeled rover was made with a rover frame and not a rover mk1 but I can't find rover frame anywhere in my MK2 Electronics printer. Am I doing something wrong or missing something here?

I had a one year break on the game too and so didn't explore everything new yet, but as far as I understood, now you can craft a MK1 rover, than MK2, but MK2 has been removed from the game for now.
I don't know details, but I think the rover frame is definitely removed and replaced by the two other kits. (MK1 and MK2).
If I'm wrong, I guess someone will soon point it out here...

@Church: Same on my side. The Stationpedia still shows the rover frame but no fabricator where you can print it. So it is not included in the printer blue prints atm. in creative mode one can spawn it. I'm on the regular game channel not the beta one.

They removed the MK2 rover due to problems, also due to them not updating it anymore for now. Meanwhile you have MK1 rover which is better imo...

I am of the belief, from piecing together different sources, the MK2 will be re-introduced once some of the problems (many noted by players) are resolved.

Welp, still nothing.

To answer the question about the rover, I asked several weeks ago about bringing back the 6 wheeled rover we had in game, here is the reply I got back from the Dev's...

We do plan on redoing vehicles, but we need to work on important groundwork first. There isn't much point in us redoing vehicles if the terrain system isn't working well - as it will just cause the game to break in new ways and we would have to fix those also.

Since the big refactor last year we have tried to have the approach that when we redo things, we redo them well and with a clear and consistent direction. This avoids us taking the game in different directions, resulting in half completed features (such as Research was). This means we can be a little slower than anyone would like - but it means we do things right.

Currently we have been redoing Trading, for example. This was chosen because of it's path towards multi-block object plans like Nuclear Reactors. Trading is an existing system we can work with, and get working, without too much work. Then we can use that work to do future work on nuclear reactors.

So rather than instantly focusing on rovers - the plan will be to lay groundwork so rovers themselves will be the last piece with a lot less risk, problems, and rework.
