autominer how
finally i completed the autominer
the GroundRadar seem to work i see some trace at screen
duno if its just a single ore in surface or the whole center of planet who is rich but their is something here
so i place my automine on top and its dig 2*2 vertically at infinite deep it seem
then i extracted 3 layer of ores for a total of 25ice 30oxy 65gold
the hole is deep as 30meter i see multiples layers on the sides
will i let it digging more deep or dismount and rebuild 2 frames next
is not a mobile system
can i mount it on the rover?
what the trick
:steamhappy:

Good job getting that built! So, to answer your questions (and perhaps a bit more), here is a quick rundown for it:
--It will dig all the way to bedrock, regardless of the elevation it is built at
--Good to dig only at night if you are on a planet where the oxides and whatnot will melt in heat
--Using several in a row can be a great way to get tons of resources pretty quickly...and to easily build out a huge "basement" for your base
--Yes, in order to use again, you have to dismantle and rebuild...BUT you don't lose any materials in doing that. So you can dismantle and rebuilt indefinitely.
--No, at the moment you can't mount it to rover. I do seem to recall people asking for mobile mining system, but I can't remember if that's ever been indicated/promised by the developers.

you could try and make it fly, not advisable as the old ship stuff is pretty busted at the moment. I made this just after the auto miner was released, hard to control.

wut fly
the link is broken and i feel it to be a cheat exploit
it have to be some wheel or piston as all the other games
im aware of the basics of the gameplay not loose material during deconstruction tought its a bit expensive at my level to build a row and i dont see the tons you promised after half hour of operation
what the deep of the bedrock because i have actually 20meter deep for just two stacks
mining manually is lot more quick and rewarding considering the cost of this device
is the sdb silo the only ore container for the chute ?
how do the sorter exactlly work
is their a problem of proofness because i seen report of wasted oxy despit the use of chute

I agree that the autominer is currently annoying. Taking it apart and putting it back together isn't worth the amount of ore it typically gathers, even with good placement. A heavy mining drill and a spare tank for your jetpack is usually faster and easier. But the whole autominer and its supporting components will fit in a backpack, and it only takes a minute to assemble and disassemble. I also agree that being able to mount it to a trailer would be ideal, perhaps a trailer with deployable stabilizers and enough room to include a stationary battery and a crate or two. Better yet, if the trailer itself contained a battery and a crate mount. But that's only if the autominer stays as it is now.

Personally, I think an autominer should be a lot harder to create and run but a lot more useful. If it was a real installation that required late-game resources and a lot more supporting infrastructure to run it (like an oil rig, especially more power and maybe some cooling or some kind of gas or liquid input), I could see it generating a steady if somewhat slow supply of whatever ore it first hits, as if extracting from a large deposit, and perhaps dropping off in productivity eventually as the "vein" is slowly depleted. It should be an expensive thing to put together and operate, but its output should be much greater.

i tought i was like a 10*10 grid digger not just two its so ridicule
i agree it digg more uickly than me if i needed to make a hole like that but what for use
if the pistom just expended as far and less deep or if we needed to craft some rail and it moved as a wagon on them

It is possible to use it efficiently. You have to setup a sorter and stacker endpoint on top a mountain, then build a row (at least a dozen or more) of miners in sequence (phase by phase for maximum speed) and hook them all up in a line to the original system. Basically ALL your time is spend constructing and deconstructing miners as you move them up row by row. Then and only then are they more efficient than a manual heavy drill.

That being said, this is ridiculous and I absolutely agree the autominers are useless.

not useless because they drill more faster than you if you atempt to make the same hole
but the problem is the shape of this hole who is not enought large and long
