Airtight Room
Hello everyone,
I can't build an airtight room with the initial set of items at all. I build with glass walls and ceiling (from the initial set), build and configure the air lock (initial set) according to the tutorial, I place the Portable Gas Tank of the initial set inside the room and release 30KPa of oxygen, however the flow direction of air goes towards Porta (Composite) and passes directly and sometimes also goes towards the glass walls and passes directly through it. I have already rebuilt the Room a little further away, I have already started a new save, I have reprinted the Door Kits and nothing works, as soon as I release the Oxygen from the tank (10 ~ 30 KPa) inside the room, it goes towards door and passes straight through and so the pressure inside the room is around 1 ~ 3 KPa. The maximum I got was 8 KPa releasing all the Oxygen from the tank, which was 6 MPa.

Thanks.

Have you made floor and roof of airlock - preferably from full blocks ? Do not make airlock with glass windows, they may break depending of atmosphere density - solid walls can take lot more pressure. On hot planets you want to build everything from solid blocks initially and later expand with glass greenhouse after you have built your gas infrastructure and can take care of pressure.

Yes, I did everything around the air lock (top, bottom and both sides) of fully finished iron structures. With regard to the atmosphere outside the room, I think it is not a problem, as I am playing on the Moon. I am trying to make a Greenhouse to start Hydroponics, that's why the ceiling and the glass walls.

You can use glass on moon and mars but make sure your pressure does not exceed 150 Kpa if you using glass windows. Either way I would make airlock with full walls or full block while your room can be glass.

There also way to make glass more durable if you make double glass panels or add half-built full block behind the glass.

I understand. The pressure I want to achieve is 100 ~ 105 KPa at most. The point is that the movement of the air particles goes towards the door and passes through it after I open the gas tank. The glass walls don't seem to be the problem, although on one occasion. after opening the tank, the air has been directed and passed through it. I believe the problem is at the doors, a bug.

Just to be sure - did you finish the door and closed them?

Yes.

It might just be the air particle effect, which sometimes fails to stop where it should, making it look like gas is escaping when it might not be. I see this happen a lot with regular doors. Monitor the pressure to see if you're actually losing air.

I don't really know what I'm doing wrong. I removed all the glass walls and ceiling. I put a fully finished iron structure forming the room, yet the pressure is still lost. The particles continue to move mostly towards the Composite Door and some move towards the fully finished iron walls and simply appear to pass straight through them as well as at the door. I already thought that it may be because I am using the Portable Gas Tank (a large white that is attached to the Landing Ship) because it is Pure Oxygen and perhaps it is because I am releasing this pure oxygen to try to form the pressure. I do not know. 105 KPa of pressure is equal to 0.105 MPa and this tank comes with 7 MPa more, I release more than 1 MPa (1000KPa) from the tank and nothing. I am seriously thinking of asking for a refund, as the airlock tutorial does not help at all. I think this game is very good and I would like to play it, but without being able to form a room with pressure, hydroponics is much more difficult and without it is impossible to feed in the long term and the initial food ends relatively quickly.
Please devs and more experienced players help me, I think this game is really cool and I would not like to ask for a refund and return it.

I bet your Atmos system is somewhat wrong.
What are you using to regulate the pressure in your base?
I guess Pressure regulator and a Back Pressure Regulator?
Check that you are not actually emptying your system setting them up wrong.

Make sure all wall, frames and windows etc are fully build.
If you build underground/ mountain side you can get leaks also mind you.

I could join you if you like and take a look at your system, just pm me.
2000+ hrs plus in the game so I'm sure I can help out with your leaking atmos at least ;)

You not going to grow anything in airlock, are you ? 105 Kpa looks good but you may even go bit higher since simple airlock need 100Kpa to function and sometimes you lose part of your pressure. Also you lose gas when scrubbing out for pollutant and volatiles.

Visual airflow is not very accurate, use your tablet to check air pressure. You either half-built some block, your active vent set wrong or your doors are swapped. Just to test it, replace all blocks around airlock with full blocks.

Use APC with full battery, console with simple airlock, active vent with single closed pipe only, pressure sensor and both doors ( label doors ) all connected INSIDE airlock block. No other connections. Manually open inside door and close outside door. Setup airlock. Raise pressure in base to 105+ Kpa. See if it works.
