edit: New question, how can I play multiplayer then? I set a port in the game, forwarded it on my router, let the game out through firewall and my friend also let it out through firewall. UPnP doesn't seem to do anything.
We have depreciated it for now so that we can cleanly rewrite our networking to be much more efficient. We are looking at a more global solution for NAT traversal as well. This is because steam P2P only works for two players running the game through steam, it doesn’t work for three players or if one of the three players is running the game outside of steam.
We will keep you posted with the progress, again very sorry for the disruption as we redo it.
that is, due to the fact that a non-Steam player could not join successfully Steam players, you decided to disable the multiplayer completely for everyone? Super dumb move!
I bet your teddy left a dent in the wall at the speed you threw it, just before posting that.
Reading through Rocket's post he explains why it was disabled. He has apologised for that and admitted they are working to fix it. And you react like this? Nice..
Buy a dedicated server? Are you serious?! I bought the game! It states multiplayer, where is it? And I will say anything, because I consider myself deceived!
And, the devs have explained very well why they took it down. So we have a good stable, most likely a better multiplayer, p2p game later on.
