Can't enable p2p host
I haven't played in a while and wanted to play multiplayer with a friend. Port forwarding doesn't work. The option to enable steam p2p host is grayed out (can't put a check mark in it). Any ideas why?

Apologies for the trouble with this. We are doing a very big refactor of the multiplayer and P2P was not working very well, with some big performance troubles and it also made the code very complicated.

We have depreciated it for now so that we can cleanly rewrite our networking to be much more efficient. We are looking at a more global solution for NAT traversal as well. This is because steam P2P only works for two players running the game through steam, it doesn’t work for three players or if one of the three players is running the game outside of steam.

We will keep you posted with the progress, again very sorry for the disruption as we redo it.

After looking around on the official discord I found out that p2p is currently disabled so no multiplayer for me, I guess ):

edit: New question, how can I play multiplayer then? I set a port in the game, forwarded it on my router, let the game out through firewall and my friend also let it out through firewall. UPnP doesn't seem to do anything.

Had same problem. Don't remember how I fixed it. Maybe it was UPnP...
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

that is, due to the fact that a non-Steam player could not join successfully Steam players, you decided to disable the multiplayer completely for everyone? Super dumb move!

I bet your teddy left a dent in the wall at the speed you threw it, just before posting that.
Reading through Rocket's post he explains why it was disabled. He has apologised for that and admitted they are working to fix it. And you react like this? Nice..

Yes, the teddy bear was hurt and the wall too. We played with friends six months ago. We were going to repeat and it turns out that the online game is completely disabled. Is this normal? It worked! Why turn it off?! "good step" considering, what's coming soon The Planet Crafter

Just buy dedicated server for few euros as they work fine. CitadelServers, GamingDeluxe, anything goes. I'm sure the P2P is disabled for everyone because there is a good reason. Just think about it before telling Rocket something about dumb moves.

Buy a dedicated server? Are you serious?! I bought the game! It states multiplayer, where is it? And I will say anything, because I consider myself deceived!

Oh, is it not possible for me to host games at this moment?

Or wait till the game is finished, after all, you bough access to a game that is under development. All that is clarified when you buy a early access game ;)
And, the devs have explained very well why they took it down. So we have a good stable, most likely a better multiplayer, p2p game later on.
