Welder is not operable for this task

Hi all
My welding torch stopped working. It has fuel in it, I have steel sheets in one hand, the torch in the other, it is turned on - but all it says is, that it is not operable for this task. It was a second ago, also with steel sheets, but not any more. Even tried with the emergency welder with no success.
Tried with restarting the game - no success.
Tried with iron sheets and iron frames - nope.
Any ideas?

I've tried to weld up steel frames with steel sheets.
Tried to weld in the plastic sheets for a door.
Tried to weld up iron frames with iron sheets.
All with no success.

Sounds like a bug.

Have to ask, what gas is in the welder?

Is your game public and joinable?

I've tried both, the Welding torch and the emergency one. The gas is still the starting gas.
Even the emergency welder stopped working from one frame to the next.
Did several restart of the game.
No, it is not public...

Not sure what you mean by "emergency" welder.

Theres a battery operated welder that can be built in tool lathe.

Are you trying to weld within a closed/sealed environment? Because I had problems like that once that ultimately lead to my welder igniting the atmosphere and blowing up the area I was working in. I was welding floor frames complete when I had walls and ceilings in place and there was build up of some kind of waste in the enclosed space.

I loaded your save but couldn't really see what was up as your character was holding your welder. I was able to weld some iron plates to your floor frames with mine.

I then did "clear disconnected players" to make your character die and drop their welder, and there is no fuel in the welder fuel tank.

Yes, after a respawn it workt for a short time...

same here i could weld stuff okay....i welded all the frames around the base, no prob

Yes, meanwhile the canister is empty, but even the other welder didn't work. Will do a respawn from time to time, since this is the only thing that helped.
