Serves a purpose that HaRviE does not, and also allows you a nice end-game tech for outposts and colonies you don't have room/supply for pressurization.
Version 1.
After harvesting it would restock the unit, stack all the extra crops then send them to storage (this build was completed pre traders) eventually the chute issues where it would throw items everywhere, meant it was easier for me to me dismantle it to start again with the hydroponics stations that have grow lights.
Version 2.
After harvesting it would restock the unit, stack all the extra crops then send them on an alternating pattern using a sorter to either food production storage or to my trading station, (This one has now been broken due to crops not harvesting, input hatch locking shut and not being able to open without dismantling, and crops being dropped inside the machine)
I've not used the Harvie and would rather not to be honest as it requires sunlight to actually work I prefer my hydroponics system to be in a room without windows as I find it easier to control room temperature without windows.
If they make a version of Harvie with a glow light i'd consider using it but would prefer to keep the automated hydroponics unit as an end game option due to personal preference.
I shall be keeping my dismantled automated hydroponics kits in storage just in case it's fixed but also knowing it will likely be gone for good from survival.
