Go where you want beacon.
Tap Q to drop it.
Look at it, and click the "Tracking Beacon On" interaction cue. It should light up.
Now put the tracker cartridge in your tablet, and turn it on.
You should now have an arrow pointing to your beacon.
(The beacon doesn't last long with the default battery, so you might want put a bigger one in before you go on very long trips, and check your tracker often while roaming so you have a vague idea of the way home if it runs out of juice)
For now I'm navingating by the stars...actually works.
And is it true, that the range is 500 meters?
Question for the DEV's:
Is a stationary version planed, wich could connectet to a stations powergrid?
+1 I think this should be a thing! Absolutely a must have for those late-early game long trips that leave you slightly baffled as to the way home... and if not for finding those metal structures off in the distance...I don't know that I'd have made it home.
I have the same thing sometimes. But if you press "R" and switch to the chip (just like you want
to remove it), then it should show your beacon again. But i'm still not shure about its maximum
range.
This sounds like a bug. I'll check the bug reports and add it if need be.
I'm looking forward to this :D
