(possible Bug) Daylight Sensor Issue's
So i'm trying to automate the solar panels and for the first half of the day they work fine the issue comes when the sun is behind the sensor at which point the solar panels can't track the sun ration due to the sensor not picking reading the suns ration.

The sensor is facing the sun rise the same direction the panels are set to face. As soon as the sun reaches 100 degree's the sensor stops reading the runs ratin thus the solar panels no longer function. I have tried adding a second senor to track the suns ration as it decends but that causes other problems.

I've already seen the logic chips in use and will use them at some point but thourght i would report this issue in case its a bug and hope if it isn't someone can explain why the senor stops reading the suns ration.

huh, can you move the daylight sensor to the opposite side (to the sunset side) of the panels. and try from there? that's how i have mine oriented and it constantly gets the number. also pics of the logic too (i originally had my math backwards so it would barely work)

You don't need sensors on both sides, you only need it on the dawn side to get the angle. I've found that the set up in this guide tends to be perfect for constantly tracking the sun so long as there is a charged battery in the APC when night hits.

Thanks Zero and Zarris. I found what my problem was. I had mad the block the sensor is on level 2 and it needs to be level 1 so the sun can shine through it lol.

At least you got it fixed. Still mine is level 2 and works fine and tracks it. Are you using an APC with a battery in your config setup?

No i'm not, is that the problem?

Does this work on the moon as well? Need to get something going for automation, manual is driving me nuts and using the computer to do it does not seem to be working very well.

At the moment I only play on the Moon and yeah that works perfectly there. I tend to have it with it's own dedicated APC and the Batch Writer allows you to just add more panels as you make them without to do more than lay more cabling.

Nice. Trying to get that set up has been a nightmare. I spent about 2 hours with the PC trying to get it just to find out it did absolutely nothing.

It is not that complicated to use the logic circuits, and it works like a charm on the moon... never had a single power issue after that (unless the dedicated server crashes). There are many tutorials out there to help you.

This is also the one I use. Works almost perfectly, spring for the full setup.
