and 80c is to high, once a cpu get that high it will start to slow down to protect it self and then your game/ocmputer run slower.
1). Clean your cooler for dust ( DO NOT use a vacume cleaner ) use a high presure air hose, BUT do not give full power... no stronger than what you can blow your self.
also before you do this use the airhose in advance for 30 sec to blow out any water inside..
And after use do not power on your computer for 15 minutes...
I have done the above for +25 years without any issues at all.
2). during a cpu's lifetime especially when it become older, then the CPU grease inbetween the cpu and the cooler become old.. It could be a good idea to try and remove your cooler and remove the cpu grease... you can use window cleaner sprey ( a little bit ) and a tissue that are very soft such as cleanex.
Next put on new cpu grease in a very thin clayer... a credit card is a good tool for this.
-the most easy is to get grease that you can "paint" onto the cpu top.
TIP.. the first time you turn on the computer afterwards make it run at max speed that make you cpu wamr ( example stationeers ) for 15-30 minutes....
Restart your computer and then make it run at ordinary speed for 30 minutes so it cool down.. maybe let it run for 60 minutes just in case.
the reason why you want to do this is to make the grease soft and spread out even more even.. and when you run the computer cool afterwards it will cool and the grease will become stronger. After this you can use your computer as usual.
If you do not do the above dont worry, you computer will work fine no matter what, its just a little trick i used for +25 years and it work well for me ;-)
3). check the flow of air though your computer case, there are also some filter that can be clearned, and check your fans are actual spinning.
4). some coolers have some software that you can use to adjust a cpu cooling profile.
Example Asus motherboards have "AI suit " software that can do this somewhere.
BUT you can also go into your bios and make some adjustments of at what celtius the cpu should run at example 50% speed or so on..
5). I actual like to recommend you to buy a better CPU cooler than you properbly have today.
You can get some "passive" ones that are quite big, but they have a really great cooling and are super silent.
An example how they look like is
http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/Hyper-612-ver2/
or
http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/masterair-ma620p/
It does not matter much if it have 1 or 2 fans.. it just need to have a large cooling head
just like the radiator in a car.
( note the above examples, i do not know if fit your motherboard or compatible with your cpu, but i presume they are... ) PS.. they can be a little tricky to install.
By the way they cool just as much and are more quiet than the stand alone water cooling systems that have a radiator. example
http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-liquid-cooler/masterliquid-pro-240/
and by the way the water cooling systems have a tiny annoying pump sound.. the passive coolers do not and are just as good at cooling. ( almost ).
