Cleaning/repairing gas filters?
Is there a way to clean/reuse filters or they are just trash when they reach 0%?

i never found a way to do that. i recycle em and don't loose any iron with small filters. haven't made any medium or heavy ones yet so i don't know if they are economical.

So only recycle, works for me.

Not currently, but we would like to add an appliance or machine that does this.

ok i just noticed, small filters take 5g iron and yield 2g on recycle now so they eat into the iron reserves. gonna see about the other sizes.

What bout higher tier?

A new appliance would be cool, but I feel like you should have to add more than just the filter and power. A small tank with water, like how you load the welder with a small tank.

something changed, the filters aren't degrading as fast now.

They degrade based on environmental conditions maybe?

the CO2 filters in my suit, noticeably longer but i didn't time them before so i don't have exact figures.

If you do decide to add a filter cleaning appliance, I'd suggest making it a generic device - call it an 'ultrasonic bath' or somesuch. That just leaves the options open should you, at some future point, want to also use it for maintaining non-filter components. A filter cleaner isn't good for much beside filters.

Filters seem to last based on the amount they filter now instead of just how long they are used. All six of my filter machines started at the same time and are all at different usage levels.

I concur with this. That beee said, I recommend using pipe analyzers and logics to detect atmospheric conditions to turn ON/OFF filtrations, for more efficiency on filter use.

Edit:
Can you also look into slot readers? Is it possible to use a slot reader and display console to easier keep track of filter life in a larger base? I would love to hear progress on this. Thanks.

At real-ground ,,,, clening the filter is by 2 solution :
- Acide
- Ultra-sound .... sure this is not for one same type of filter.

Maybe use some machine to clean tier 1 filter with just energy cost T2 filter with some carbon fiber replacement and T3 heavy filter with some carbon+ something else?

So you get your entry level filters that don't last long but can be maintaned and long lasting ones that require a bit material to clean?

cleaning filters does not result in a new filter. they degrade every use. so i think cleaning them would raise the % but not to 100%. and there should be a limit to how many cleanings will work.
