Using the advanced furnace
You know, it would be really great if some one would tell us how to use the blasted advance furnace, there are no guides or videos for this.

That is one of the major problems in this game, new devices and items are added and there is NO info on any of them.

I like this game but this is a real turn off, I'm off to play Empyrion until I can get more info on the new stuff.

Info is all in the Stationpedia (F1 I think). Gives all the details about the furnace and if you search for the super alloys, it gives you the required recipes, pressures and temperatures.

Okay, but, it does not tell you about the fuel (I managed to find that in an off hand reference), it also does not tell you how to use the pressure regulators, or that the input fuel may need to be pressure regulated. Also, with just the two regulators, HOW do you regulate the temperature and pressure, plus the infopedia does not give in some cases the entire mix for the new alloys. I had to get into the config file to find the correct mixes. The infopedia is nearly useless for any detail questions on how items operate or can be used. I can get better info pulling it out of the config files (which still doesn't tell you how to use the items. The only saving grace is the unofficial wiki, and it is not up to date on the new items,

This could be a great game, I have over 600 hours on it, but, the lack of info is very frustrating.

Well the regulators are just in built volume pumps, one for in and one for out. I guess at some point it's more understanding the mechanics of the game than an individual item. To regulate temperature and pressure you have to pump in fuel or pump out gas.

I found all of the mixes listed for all of the alloys to work :-/

I know what you mean though, to get a full picture you often have to look at multiple items (Advanced furnace, alloys, fuel, gas mechanics) and piece it all together. That's partly the fun of the game for some, but appreciate it can be annoying for others. It'd be hard to do those types of tutorials for every single different possibility in the game though, so this is probably where there is a reliance on the community, YouTube videos, that kind of thing.

From my experience, the Superalloy ranges are so tight, that it seems to me it's almost expected that you control it with IC. I think it'd be really hard to do manually (although I've not tried. I just rigged it straight up with IC).

I never understood why the wiki didn't get more support. The info is old and has always been lacking. You would think for a game like this there would be all kinds of info but no. Theres more technical info on CoD.

Lmao i so much agree with that.

Best advice i can give to learn the advance furnace is to have a creative game where you can test out different settings for it wich i did and even there took me 6 tries just to make waspalloy no IC. Dont need a pressure regulator on the line the advance furnace has them built in for both input and output just make sure to put output at 0 when you start it or else you will start losing your pressure and heat right away. Well sorry thats if your using a canister storage if your using straight from tank or mixing station then yeah regulator would be usefull not to waste.

Struggling with this bit with this myself. Only making normal alloys so far in it going to try the new ones soon.

Biggest problem I have is that activating the furnace ignites any gas left in the input pipe (even with the input valve closed) , so still need a valve on the pipe. I'm using the mixer valve

Has anyone blown one up?

Yeah true.

Lol no but i should try that but i would need a lot of oxygen and hydrogen did with a regular one to test how much pressure they take and its 60Mpa.

My guess its either the same or maybe 80-100Mpa

Oh yeah, Blew up BIG time, hahaha. That's when I decided to try a pressure regulator on the input gas line.

Any chance you noticed the pressure in furnace before it blew up?

Just tried. Overpressure warning at 60Mp blew at about 62-63

Ok so its the same as regular furnace.

I'm not sure, I saw it hit 54m and then I ran like hell, hehe

I did regular one with constantly feeding stack of oxites and volatiles and starred at it did 2 test one went up to 70+ i quickly went to release valved and release it saved it no explosions. Then I redid it but this time just starred at it lol and let the pressure above 60Mpa red overpressure text in window you have bout 10-15 seconds before it blows. If that

This pic (taken 23rd October) was not long before the advanced furnace came out. Had thrown dump valve before taking pic, was up around the 100Mpa mark, also left some brown marks in space suit lol

Caused by operator error, ment to put in 4 vols, had full stack (x500 mod) in other hand. . .
