Video for anyone interested with a simple way to passive heat water for your plants since that is maybe a thing now.

this is just a theory, i believe it has alot to do with energy flow. when my hydroponics bay is relativly static (no airflow, not much thermal conductivity) the plants are very sensitive to temperatures. but when the bay is dynamic ( air being filtered and returned causing air flow, thermal energy in constant motion ) the plants seem to be very forgiving of temp swings. to get dynamic energy i have radiators next to the grow trays that have chilled coolant in them. again this is a theory but so far its being supported by the data. had my atmo temp at 50C+ and the plants did fine. note: this is on mars so the main problem is too much heat.

im curious, what CO2 levels do you have in your hydroponics?
Captiva Aug 13, 2018 @ 9:01am
Uhhhh. I forgot to add Co2. So now I feel like an idiot.

...and after adding Co2 the plants are fine. *facepalm

Thanks for helping me sort it out backnorth. I use the waste co2 in my pack, which put my base at about 5% co2.

It is interesting that your plants are doing fine with such high heat though.

I just have 1 room filled with c02 that I regulate with a thermostat, then I pipe everything through there with radiators.
