Here's what finally got it to work:
1. You can restore manual control by deselecting the doors in the config menu (with data disk inserted). When they are selected you can't operate them anymore.
2. One of the doors must be open.
Once I deselected one of the doors from the config menu I could operate it again and open it. Then when I selected it again the error went away. I haven't been using it for a long period of time so perhaps there are other bugs in it still. Right now it's working great for me, but man what a frustrating learning experience.
Remove console, place it back. Sure ext door is open. Solves 100% of itme for me so far.
There was an old issue with this I am not sure was ever changed. I don't say bug because I think it was working as intended, but again not positive if it changed. The airlock board holds different states, just pulling it out didn't reset it. Whether it is still valid or not, when I pull one out I trash it and always start new.
I had this issue, start googling, found this one solution and it worked out. I dont even trash it. And since then with every airlock that bugged this solution helps, so...
And yeah, i bougth this game at mid january, so i only played on this one version.
