using ore scanner

Am i missing a step for using the ore scanner?

ore scanner cartrige in tablet turn it on,
place GPR turn on press active.

all i get is no signal.

Do i need to somehow work out how to connect them?

the gpr requires a battery. if you have one then you are doing it right. if there is nothing where you drop it then you still get no signal.

I guess I was testing it at surface ore then with nothing below me

Also, you have to scroll when the tablet is in your hand. Not sure why it doesn't default to the correct "channel" but if you're getting static, use the scroll wheel.

This is right on. I thought it was broke too until I realized I had to find the correct channel. I agree too that it's strange it doesn't just default to that, but whatever.

yeah the scroll down worked, is there a channel to show the different ore? only able to see everything as light blue

For now this is it.. maybe we get layers in time with more advanced tech if thats implented and planned, but for now, this is it. No way to tell by the scanner what it is, only that something is there

There is a color version of the ore scanner but it needs the high tier metals to make it

I've stuck this piece of garbage right beside or on top of ore and it still says No Signal. No amount of mouse scroll wheeling has changed the channel to give me any kind of anything. It's got a fully charged large battery in it. What the hell.

It's infuriating, given that it occasionally works, but 90% of my attempts end up in the same place - No Signal, even with scrolling. The time spent fiddling with - turning both devices on and off, activating GPR multiple times, switching out cartridges, it until it finally works for no apparent reason doesn't feel worth the advantage of knowing where the ore is.

Is the advanced tablet still a buggy horrifying mess? If you're using it try switching to the normal datapad
