Tutorial: How to "drag" the portable tank anywhere?

Just bought the game and installed it, now I'm trying to go through the tutorial and I'm supposed to move this huge tank over to a newly constructed connector. The only problem is, I don't think the game has told me how to move objects that are too large to be picked up and after trying every key on my keyboard I am now floating helplessly above the floor unable to get down because the movement keys seem to have changed somehow.

...A little help please?

Find the spot around the middle area and get the message to drag

Hitting J will turn on your jet pack, hitting it again should allow you to fall to the floor and move normal again. Like Maireen said, the place you need to hit is about the the middle. You use the mouse button to grab it. Also, you need to have a hand open (nothing being held)

Thank you! *sigh*... I was looking directly at that thing for at least 10 minutes from all possible angles and I never got that prompt.... and then I tried again just now, looking just a TINY bit lower and found the magic spot. Ofcourse, by that time I had forgotten that the key to drop something was Q, this took me another 30 seconds or so. Slowly getting a handle on things now, actually managed to complete the tutorial without starving to death. Does that mean I'm ready to start building my armada? Probably not, as I haven't the faintest clue how to get food, oxygen or raw materials... :-D

The game just throws you in the wilderness to fend for yourself with the tutorial only covering 5% of the gameplay

I'm discovering this. In my first attempt I found some "volatile ore" or whatever and managed to burn down my base, all my machinery and myself. On my second attempt, all I can find is gold. If there is some trick to find resources other than just drilling in random places then I don't see it :-P

Am I right in assuming that I need to be able to manufacture electronics in order to get that gadget? If so, I guess I still need to find my first copper vein the old fashioned way.

You just walk around and find a piece on the surface and then dig all around down into that area and try get the whole vein... one tip is leave a piece on the showing on the surface while you mine out the vein incase you can't or don't want to get it all on this trip, that way next time you know there's still more to look for in that spot
