Gas Storage/Mixing issue
So I've got a newer base starting up. In my tradition of not using solar, I got everything in place to use my Gas Generator last night. I'm running into 2 issues, I feel like 1 has to do with 2, but here's what I'm seeing:

Issue 1 - I have direct feeds coming from My H2 and O2 storage tanks going to a mixer, mixer is setup in a 64/36 H2/O2 mix, and that's feeding into a portable tank. Everything has been new construction and only ever hooked up to said lines. Atmos reader is showing only pure gas feeds in the pipe prior to the mixer. When I fire up the mixer, I end up getting H2, O2, X, N, and CO2 in the tank. in some cases, I'm getting more CO2 than H2/O2. (noticed 2kmols CO2, but 850mols O2 and 1.7kmols H2) inside the brand new portable tank. Not sure how to keep the mix from getting contaminated when there's no way for said contaminants to get into the tank.

Issue 2 - after taking the tank from issue one over to the gas gen, it will fire up just fine. However, at the traditional low pressure settings (2Kpa) I'm getting 355W out. Not Kilowatts, Watts. I had the pressure jacked up to 250Kpa and was only getting 9.6KW out of the gas gen. Now, that's enough to get the batteries charged, but nowhere NEAR what I've gotten used to seeing. Is this a new change that I've missed the notes on or am I getting the low output due to the impure gas mix in the tank (that's my thought).

Any help would be appreciated. I suppose if I can't get this resolved, I'll end up rerouting the gas feeds to do a direct input into the gas gen and eliminate the tank, but they're currently separated by a bit.

Sounds like your fuel mixture spontaneously exploded/burned inside the tank. Did you check the temperature by any chance?

I know I had a bunch of radiators on the pipes, but didn't pay attention to the tank temp. Also, didn't think that was a thing in the game... I will try the direct feed and see if I get the same issue.

I have built a system in my base that would feed any unburned fuel back into the tank for the furnace after smelting using a filter. I had to hook up a couple of radiators and logic to only let the fuel flow back once its temperature was low enough, otherwise it would ignite the fuel inside the tank.

So combustion inside of tanks or pipes is definitely a thing in this game 😉

I'm having the same issue. Fuel store in my portable tank is igniting. I built a room for my tanks that kept them cool. My gasses from my furnace goes to a holding tank with radiators for the gas to cool before going through filtration. No matter what the O2/H2 keeps igniting in the tank.

Yeah I thought about last night. O2/H2 should not come together until it's ready to be used. so I did away with the fuel storage tank and just have the gas mixer go directly to my furnace. Plus i didn't realize how old this discussion was until now...hehe!

It has aged very well though - because exploding fuel tanks are still a thing at 32° C. Thanks for the info. I will try building a liquid filled cooling tower to run my pipes through.
