Solar Panel field set ups.. opinions?
So, for my base I have my solar panels off the ground about 4 frames and go out from my base ( think wings). I currently have about about 16, and plan to increase that, but not sure if i want to keep expanding outwards. How much solar like do you lose placing the panels in a " block pattern" instead of a straight line.

I'm more curious how others have their solar array setup!

He is mine https://ibb.co/bzDeCc

I was thinking of making a ground lvl field

try gas generator:

1Kpa of welder fuel in it = 76 solar panels at 100% efficiency

I have 70 setup in a block format. 7 rows of 10. A couple things to note. I originally had placed them in a line with a gap in between them. Don't do that - you can put them right next to each other and have room at the end to add more. I think before I had 1 per grid, now it's 1.25 per grid. As for overlapping in a line facing the sun, you lose a bit when the sun comes up or sets, but having more panels closer together yields more power during peak times. I have my panels right next to each other, and separated rows just enough to walk between them. 35Kw 80% of the time the sun is up and 16 batteries. Also you can put batteries in parallel right next to each other so the power switch is covered. Use a switch and logic writer to turn them all on. You can fit 3 batteries where normally 2 were before.

is that Bevis??? thats kickass! I'll try both out!

I do mine like that, some ground level, some as a stairstep design, some in rows in front of each other or on two roof ends. Usually 15-30 of them
Where the solar panels connect to charge the batteries I connect a gas generator, though I've had it fry heavy cables without a few large transformers, or the solid fuel generator as a just in case.
Lots of batteries, start setting them from the left, turn them on and place the next one up against it and continue like that. Base of welded frames, then un welded over top and you can stack the batteries 2 levels high (or more). Saves space and If a few welded frames up, the best light beacon there is.
The best circuitry I've found is this one https://stationeers-wiki.com/Solar_Logic_Circuits_Guide
it always works even switching between development and beta.

Thanks, yeah i was trying to figure out how to stack the batteries. Why the heavy then reg cable from the batteries? Also why the 6 way? I got mine automated atm... i was just curious of others set-ups thats all.

Heavy Output, Reg. data, I usually use heavy for everything. 6-way, easiest to place from where I was standingat the time. I'll see if I can find a dual layer battery set.
