Gas Mixer
I am trying to run a furnace fuel system using 2 portable tanks of oxy and volatiles both have
output regs set at aroud 1000 for o2 and 3000 for volatiles then to a gas mixer set at 34 oxy 66 volatiles, why is the pressure after the Mixer at 65000 kpa and keeps blowing the pipes, i have a reg after the mixer set at 500 for furnace pressure.it seems like they are acting as pumps?

As long as the mixer is on it will continue to pump as long as it has supply on both inputs. I solved this by installing an analyzer right after the mixer, and some logic chips to turn the mixer off if the analyzer reads > 5000.

So basically a reader for the analyzer, a compare chip that checks reader, less than, memory with a value of 5000. Finally a writer that writes to the mixer. If the analyzer has less than 5mpa pressure, it turns the mixer on, and shuts it back off after the pressure reaches 5mpa, etc.

You could more easily do this with a computer, if you don't mind the 200w power drain.

thanks, that sounds like a plan, They should rename the GasMixer to GasMixerPump

If you want something a bit more simple than what Sacksquatch describes you can use a volume pump instead of a regulator on one of the inputs. Set it to a low volume which slows down what is going into the mixer and you get time to monitor the output and manually shutoff when required. I also have a tank filler and canister between the mixer and furnace which acts a a buffer and also lets me fill my welder.
