Shadows, Unity and low FPS, can it be fixed?.
If you want to skip the bulk and discuss, is the very low FPS linked to shadows (in my case) a problem with the games coding or a core fault with Unity/verson of Unity the game is running or a perhaps a limit in my system?(more like the game is barely scratching at my system.) Small note, anyone who says my single thread sucks, my 2600 has better single thread then my old I5-7600k.

I have a pretty simple question and I'm open to te♥♥♥♥♥al discussion on the topic. After struggling with low FPS for days I finally went stuff it, did some testing and this is pretty much what I found.

My system is as follows

Ryzen 5 2600 at 4GHz 1.325v push pull CoolerMaster 212 Evo in a Silverstone PM-01 case with 6 fans total not encluding the radiator for the GPU mounted on the rear.
Asrock X470 Gaming K4
G.skill FlareX 3200MHz C14 DDR4 14-14-14-34
XFX Vega 64 Liquid Cooled Typical clocks under full load sitting just under 1700MHz core and 1100MHz memory clock though it "can" usually run 1150Mhz memory clock reliably, have pushed it up to 1165 in benchmarks (Video card measuring contest with my other Vega friends)
Razer Naga Trinity mouse (It's a great mouse but the software is junk and for that reason I will never buy Razer ever again.
Corsair K70 Keyboard (Only a year old and already loosing colors in several LED's)
2x Samsung Curved 27' monitors
1x AOC 24' monitor

So what I found was as follows, I loaded up the moon, jet packed up and looked down at the default items and got a stunning 22-25fps. Completely fresh map only default items in crates not opened and as they landed on the map, perfect. I went through and tested every setting on/off low and high. Nothing made any difference until I turned off shadows. (Note: I reloaded every time I did a major wave so the time of day was the same)

Once shadows were disabled the game shot up to 180fps I knew what was up so I started doing some other fiddling and the short version is this. I could limit the game to 5 (One sitting at 80-90% with 4 others sitting at 50-60%, didn't like 4 threads but wouldn't use all of 5, run my Vega at 310MHz core clock and 500MHz memory (Kept jumping between P0 and P1 so i locked it to P1) and in doing so there was zero change to performance.

After this I jumped into the Server with my friends using the same thread count and core clocks. hovering over our base with shadows turned on I sat at 30fps and without I sat at 50ish FPS. This change I could understand however, there's allot going on however there was no change in performance. (Note: After this I unlocked the game from it's 5 threads and forced P7 core and P3 memory clock and there was 0 change in FPS with shadows turned on.

http://prntscr.com/oo3nrt Shadows
http://prntscr.com/oo3ny0 No Shadows
(not sure Steam is quite at the point of inserting images into the discussions but one day they might.)

The only thing I will say that I noticed after is a very spiky GPU Utilisation in GPU-Z compared to Windows Task manager, kinda expect this because WTM sucks but not sure what's going on there.

Response from the Devs about my initial question would be great and any discourse regarding setup/what it's not utilising my pc would be sweet.

I play on a rig that probably isn't half of what you have and I get a solid 60FPS except for the stutter that has been discussed extensively on the forums.

And this rig is what exactly?. as I said there's no performance gain or loss throttling CPU (unless I force the game onto 3 or 4 threads) or GPU (Literally run the gpu as low as it could go with no FPS loss or gain running maxed out) however I have no way that I know of to limit the games access to memory to see if that's what's stoping it. Again I can run at 60FPS as long as I disable shadows, about 50fps (using bugger all resources) on the MP server we've been playing for days and have progressed quite far.

Is this a problem of the game needing more memory but not knowing how to utilise it?

Never did reply with your specs.

Hektor probably never build a massive base.

Nope, this whole game is way over my head. I am going back to Peggle.
