1. More user friendly, since user will immediately know what to do
2. More consistent with the rest of the game
3. Items won't magically apear in machine that is far away, or even in fully enclosed room
4. Separation of input and output simplifies automation a lot: Vending machine in such case can be usefull for trade automation and player can have separate input and output machines
Example:
1. Player opens trade window, selects what player wants to sell.
2. Landing pad changes hash variable on it's data port (and may be starts a countdown till trade gets canceled).
3. Logic reads data port's hash and requests the items from vending machine
4. Vending chutes item to landing pad
5. As soon as item reaches landing pad, and if it is on the agreed list, player gets cash
6. If player inserts item that is not on trade list (and probably not in trade agreement) item can be either spit out from output port or 'jam the port (like in case of centrifuge).
P.S. Such method also might be easier to modify and expand in future. Emiting player/credit hash/id when player buys something might also be usefull for automation
maybe i don't see this window but i am clicking all over the landing pad, it goes green but nothing comes up
Do you have the data port for the landing pad on the same network as the vending machines? They should all be on the same circuit.
